And you're regularly accused of posting nonsense on here. You're further proving my point by creating an argument, you didn't need to start it by comparing this incident to George Floyd incident Honestly far too threads turn from something fun into a pointless argument

They were both filmed by members of the public, whether we like it or not it's part and parcel of day to day life nowadays. Personally, the biggest issue for me is why people are bothered that a driver has stopped off for food - providing he isn't there for a long time, it wouldn't be an issue for me as a passenger on the bus. I can remember this happening with some Arriva drivers on the 2 who'd stop off at a particular cafe for a tea/coffee or to get change (this was pre cashless payment on buses) and I wasn't that bothered by it admittedly. Sorry but I think it’s inappropriate, drivers get breaks for food and drink. I can understand in extreme weather like heat if someone needs a drink. Anything could happen to a bus or passenger whilst the driver is away.

The bus shouldn't have been left unattended with passengers on it. Its fine in the 99.9% of times when it's uneventful, but once the 0.01% happens, everyone will be up in arms.

The thing is this isn't a one of or isolated incident there's a video on Tiktok not long before this one of a driver on either the H9/H10 stopping of at somewhere in Kenton to go to a chicken shop whilst there were passengers on. What do you they were both filmed in North west London. Well anyway I wonder if that one was investigated.

This is not a big thing, during the hot weather drivers sometimes stop nearby corner shops to get water.

If the engine is off and the cab is locked, bus can be left with passengers on depending on the situation such as a mid route toilet break… 353…

TBH, anything could happen to anyone or anything at any time - I mean it's deemed ok to leave buses unattended at drivers changeover points even when no drivers or staff of any kind are in attendance so I don't see the difference personally but each to their own

Rubbish. You cannot compare the two. Let me give you a scenario that also throws your last point into doubt. I once worked in security at a UK airport. A colleague missed a liquid - probably 150ml of liquid in a 500ml bottle. There was no additional threat as the technology would have detected if said liquid was potentially explosive, however it was of course a breach of conformance. Said passenger thought it would be smart to post on Twitter that they had managed to get the liquid through. The meds team informed security, who had no choice but to call it through as a breach of security as that was the process. That meant that the police had to attend, on blues, and everyone was now hunting for this passenger. End result: - passenger missed flight - multiple managers out hunting for passenger for 20 mins - multiple police officers attended - security person investigated - gross misconduct! And maybe your colleague will miss something more serious next time? I think that was a fairly non-sensical answer to be honest. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes Bus driving is a pretty strenuous task given the stop-start nature of driving plus traffic, badly parked cars, awful drivers, Lycra louts and what not. Breaks at termini can be pretty tight and if you are delayed you may need to go straight back out which isn’t ideal. At some places / termini you just don’t have enough facilities for food / water / coffee / toilets etc Let’s be grown up !

I do appreciate what you saying but if breaks are already tight stopping off mid route is not exactly going to help matters. Having snacks on stand time is fine but having lunch or dinner is a different matter and that’s what your meal break is for. Of course we don’t know what the driver brought! As I said earlier drinks are totally understandable especially in hot weather and the same for toilet breaks.

You could try being grown up yourself, what have lycra louts and what not got to do with it? I haven't watched the video of this particular incident but clearly drivers can't just be stopping whenever they want to nip into shops unless there are exceptional circumstances. As for people filming such incidents and putting them on social media, we'll that's just the way of things nowadays.

So you’re passing judgment without viewing the footage, that seems a bit weird to even admit that. The driver is parked at a stop, not some random street corner.

So on that basis the police officer who killed George Floyd should have kept their job? It's the same as the old addage about CCTV, if you're doing nothing wrong you've got nothing to worry about. I doubt the bus driver will lose their job for going in the chicken shop but I think management might want a word with him about it. Rubbish. You cannot compare the two. Let me give you a scenario that also throws your last point into doubt. I once worked in security at a UK airport. A colleague missed a liquid - probably 150ml of liquid in a 500ml bottle. Without digressing, you cannot take a 500ml bottle through security and in your hand luggage, regardless of how much liquid is in it. 100ml is the limit. So if they managed to miss the 500ml bottle then that is a major cock up.

So if they managed to miss the 500ml bottle then that is a major cock up. I will politely disagree. A plastic bottle is organic and when it isn’t full and is surrounded by other organic items such as clothing, it can be easy to miss. I speak from years of experience (although I don’t think I ever let anything like this through). It’s an intense role with numerous unavoidable distractions so I can see why mistakes could happen.
