Was just about to comment this 😂 , having had a watch does anyone know what route did the 347 replace ? I'm sure it was a commercial Capital Citybus route but can't remember or a mobility bus ? And thinking about it in hindsight surely those 4 journeys each way could operate as a "Extra" duty of the 346 once it's extended so terminate at Upminster park run dead to Upminster then do a Ockendon and return and back to Upminster Pk ? could be done in 30 mins easily ? And just have the 347 start and terminate at Upminster but have the route as part of the the 346 contract ? But if we going by the video doesn't look very used by looks of it , good video as always nonetheless .

You may be right as the excellent buses at work website has a picture of a mobility branded step entrance Marshall Dart on the 347 (347 started in 2004)

I think the 347 started with first who did use the mobility buses on it. Capital Citybus started route 324 from Hornchurch - Lakeside, then I seem to remember Arriva took the route over for a while before TFL introduced route 372 to replace it.

Wow the 497 was just created the other day and it’s been binned wow 😯 If this was thought about in the first place the 497 wouldn’t have had the need to exist. Overall the 346 I imagine I’ll just take 497 fleet for its extension.

TFL have now released the maps for the upcoming changes. Looking at it now, I wonder if they should have just kept the 346 as it is. They could have extended the 347 via the 497 to Dagnam Park Square and withdrawn between Harold Wood Station and Romford.

View AttachmentI've said from the beginning that there really wasn't any need to touch the 346 at all - it's whole purpose is to take people from Upminster Park Estate who don't live on the main route through it via the 248 and link them with Upminster for local shopping and the station. All they needed to do was extend the 497 from Harold Wood Station to Upminster via Hall Lane and then either terminate it at Cranham via St Mary Lane or continue it over the current 347 to Ockendon Station

But maybe with a higher frequency bus it might change. The fact that the 347 is still being looked at means that another change could be in the cards soon

Even if it is really a basic thing, clearly that person knows that these are important for services changes.
