BusAndTrainUser (Roger French) blogged about his trip on Superloop SL10 yesterday, I think it is fair to say he gave it two cheers: busandtrainuser.com/2023/11/26/superloop-begins-to-take-shape/One point stands out for me: the use of vehicles with standard interiors, rather than the high-spec style that first appeared on route 63 and is starting to be rolled out fleet-wide. I know this is a function of having to use existing buses to get the routes into operation quickly, but I would hope that for the SL9 and SL10 at least brand-new high-spec buses can be procured in the near future, with the existing BCEs (which are still nearly-new) cascaded on to other routes.

I could only see them cascaded to another superloop route otherwise what would be the point.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Superloop white and branding is all done with vinyls which are cheap to apply and can be removed easily.

London Superloop bus service should run at night, says Lib DemA night Superloop service should be introduced to better connect the London's suburbs, a City Hall politician has said.www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67518809Absolutely pointless and I guess Pidgeon has no idea of the bus network or doesn't use it. They would hardly make much difference over normal night bus routes that at times skips past many bus stops.

This just feels like opportunistic grandstanding.

I think the only two that should run at night are the SL7 and SL9 but only because they link to Heathrow and despite no night flights plenty of people will need to be there early for morning flights.

I don’t think a 24hr SL9 is necessary as there’s already the N140 which isn’t much slower in the middle of the night. Reinstating the N183 would probably be better than a night SL10

A recent FOI request revealed that early morning bus services to the wider Heathrow Airport area on routes 81, 482 and N9 are some of the most overcrowded on the entire bus network at any time of day.

It is the N68 and between Holborn and Russell Square the N91 Most of SL Routes already have night buses covering the day versions such as Routes 119 123 183 N68 N140 N207. Overall I do not see the need to make Express Routes 24 Hour as at Night time services are less frequent and should serve every stop.

The last tender for the X26 a night service which I think may have had some demand at the Heathrow end but I agree I think the limited stop structure wouldn't have found huge demand.

Out of the new Superloop routes, SL2 has a night service for most the route with the 123 between Walthamstow (Bell) & Ilford, EL1 between Ilford & Barking and even the 474 covering the Royal Docks area of the route with connections to other night routes to destinations served by the SL2 like the 69, N15, N25/N86. There is also the N26 & N73 covering the section from The Bell to Walthamstow Central.

I think the SL7 is the one that actually has a case for a 24 hour service unlike the rest simply because of the lack of 24 hour connections running alongside parts of it and the fact Heathrow operates at early hours

Do you think that they’ll be more Superloop routes after the current lot have been introduced?
