SL7 really struggling to keep to time this weekend, buses running together and half hourly intervals between buses. Eastbound buses were losing up to 30 minutes between Hatton Cross and Kingston. I'm not sure whether it was down to roadworks or simply pre-Christmas traffic in Hampton Road/Uxbridge Road (which can often be a slow crawl anyway) and/or clogging up the approach to Kingston town centre. Westbound the issue did seem to be between Sutton and Cheam. As an "express" route the SL7 suffers from the fact that, for most of its length, there are relatively few opportunities for a limited stop bus to overtake stopping services! I don’t recall any roadworks on route, thankfully late November/December is the only time councils seem to limit roadwork activity. It’ll be Christmas traffic, there is always a noticeable increase in traffic in Kingston after the last last weekend of November as it is the major shopping destination from most of North Surrey. Towns like Staines, Walton and Addlestone pale in comparison to Kingston. Woking is quickly catching up on offerings but no longer has a department store and the parking isn’t as good.

haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/sl5-superloopSL5 consultation report published. To go ahead but with number of stops in Bromley cut from 4 to 3, with an additional stop at Barnfield Wood Road thrown in and stop in Croydon changed to Park Street not Fairfield Halls. All fairly sensible to me.

All fairly sensible to me. Confirmed in the "issues raised" document that route SL5 must use single decker buses due to low hanging trees on South Eden Park Road but they will keep this under review. I wonder if route SL5's tender result will be revealed today in a similar fashion to routes SL2 and SL3's outcomes.

All fairly sensible to me. They've produced 60 pages of reports but they haven't produced a map or even a diagram showing the chosen stops.
If the SL1 and SL10 are any guide then no such diagram will be produced before the route launches.
Please show us the final outcome, don't just write about how it's different to the consultation.

The SL3 report IS there, listed under 'Other documents'.
And it says...
Following careful consideration of all the feedback we received to the consultation, we have decided to proceed with our proposals with no adjustments to the number or location of stops served.
We will however be changing the southbound route between Bexleyheath and Sidcup. Following a route test, it is not possible to run the express service southbound via Penhill Road. The new route will therefore be as follows.
Southbound between Bexleyheath and Sidcup the route will operate: • Townley Road, Arbuthnot Lane, B2210 Bridgen Road, B2210 Parkhill Road, A222 Hurst Road, Foots Cray Lane, Faraday Avenue, Hatherley Crescent, A222 Station Road. No stops would be served
Northbound between Sidcup and Bexleyheath the route northbound will operate: • A222 Station Road, Hatherley Crescent, Faraday Avenue, Foots Cray Lane, A221 Penhill Road, A221 Danson Upas, Lodge Lane, A2 East Rochester Way, Upton Road, Townley Road. No stops would be served.
However, it remains our preference to route the bus via Penhill Road in both directions and we will work with local stakeholders to pursue this aspiration further.

Well buried - a bit like the proposals for a hyperspace by-pass in "A Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I see that it's dated October which I am assuming is result of using an old template and failing to update it.

I must have been upstairs collecting fares at the time - actually my excuse is that I'm labouring under some horrible seasonal lurgy! Of course the report has been published and a contract awarded.

Great to see an additional stop added on Westmorland Road/Barhill Wood Road by the junction of Pickhurst Lane. I said right for the start I think this area would appreciate a direct link to Shirley/Croydon as opposed to going to other end of the route to get the 119.

All fairly sensible to me. Thanks for the update. I wonder if TfL will do something smart to make bus interchange faster and safer by coordinating timetables across SL routes during early morning and late evening, when buses are less frequent and journey times more predictable. For example, it would be nice if an SL3 from Thamesmead was timed to arrive at Bromley North around 5 minutes prior to a Croydon-bound SL5 from the designated interchange stop. Same in the opposite direction. It would not make for a pleasant passenger experience (particularly for vulnerable people) if their connecting Superloop bus departs a minute before they arrive and they have a long wait until the next bus. Without direction from TfL, this will happen in some cases by default.

I notice in the SL2 response to issues raised document that it suggests that the route will vary depending on traffic conditions to use Ilford Lane or the North Circular between Ilford and Barking.

I know the routes not even started but dread to think how this route will perform in the peaks. Apart from Ilford Lane another sticky spot is along the A1020 on the approach to the A13 and Barking Roundabout.
I use the A406 Ilford slip road a lot and read to think what the service will be like if a bus gets caught there. I have lost 20 - 25 mins on a Sunday daytime.

I think the SL2 really needs access between Eric Clarke Lane and Royal Docks Way as matter of priority. Would mitigate against most problems at A13 A406 East Beckton Roundabout.
