W14 tiles have been removed from flags along Woodford Road. I do hope iBus announcement alerts are placed on the 549/W12/13/14 in the coming days Some posters have gone up at Walthamstow Central to inform people that W12 will be not be going via the village but does not seem to detail the other changes to W12. What about the more important areas? Although, technically, anyone travelling from Woodford Bridge to Leytonstone Station won't notice a difference apart from the number change.

The w12 bus route changes from 7th of this month and a huge problem is how it is intended service the Whipps Cross hospital site.i have been told the bus will not use the James Lane entrance/exit at all but only use the Main Entrance .How is the bus supposed to navigate the hospital site as it is seemingly supposed to turn around on that site . I for one would like to know how as I happen to know that site very well..anyone know what the planners have come up to deal with that conundrum?

Could it not copy what the 357 does on Sundays in the hospital grounds?

It is using the James Lane entrance, same as W15 and W19, to and from Leytonstone. What it isn't doing anymore is entering James Lane from Whipps Cross Rd or leaving the James Lane entrance and turning left to Whipps Cross Rd.

Yes I believe it is copying w15 and w19 to Leytonstone stn, then same route as w19 to Green Man roundabout then as current w14 to Woodford Bridge. Pasted from tfl site below; Travelling to and from Whipps Cross Route W12 will continue to serve stops on Hospital Road for Whipps Cross Hospital. It will no longer loop around Whipps Cross Hospital via James's Lane and part of Whipps Cross Road. It will not serve stops E, H, S or T on Whipps Cross Road. tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/changes-to-bus-routes-549-w12-w13-w14

The more I learn about this the worse it gets .I expect I will find out the new route when I have a go at it next week and see what mystery tour I get to get to the hospital from Woodford having changed buses from w13 at George Lane

Was in Wanstead High Street yesterday, the information regarding these changes is very poor. Nice easy to read notices up explaining that w12,13 and 14 will be changing frequency WITHOUT mentioning route changes. A tiny map does detail changes on a separate poster, but it's not easy to discern exactly what's going where unless you're a bus nerd like me. Confusion is bound to reign, especially as w12 will be going to Whipps Cross Hospital in opposite direction along Wanstead High Street from currently. No indication that w14 to Wanstead village will not serve Wanstead Place or Station stops. Another potential confusion is in George Lane. Catching the new w14 to Wanstead Village is not possible from (Upper) George Lane as it's only serving stops on lower George Lane. W12 on George Lane looks at first glance the same, heading to Walthamstow via Hospital travelling towards Woodford High Rd, but it won't be turning right into Snaresbrook Rd, but going via Wanstead, and Leytonstone before getting to hospital.

If I understand that correctly the W12 will still pass by Wanstead station in both directions on its new route and will simply bypass the Wanstead Place bus stop on its way to WX hospital:or is that a too simplistic way of understanding it? I currently get W12 from Wanstead Place to get to WX so it is a hopefully simple matter of changing which bus stop I select to pick up the W12 in Wanstead to get to hospital without having to change busses : I currently am planning to change my route to facilitate my work at the hospital and trying to avoid using stairs due to mobility issues as Wanstead station has escalators .Or have I completely .misunderstood this change of route ?

Yes w12 will pass the station in Wanstead as the w14 does now. Currently w12 to hospital down High Street towards Snaresbrook, turns right into Nightingale Lane , after changes w12 on opposite side to Hospital via Green Man and Leytonstone a w14 now, but it will serve Grove Green Rd station stop then as w15,19 now to Hospital. Getting into Nightingale Lane on new w14 not possible from station end of Wanstead High Street, new w14 comes from Snaresbrook Rd, Snaresbrook Station then left onto Nightingale Lane.

Many thanks.i now have to work out which bus stop to go to to get the W12 to take me to hospital from Wanstead or will it not matter as W12 buses on either side of Wanstead High road will go to the hospital.i understand that Charlie Brown's roundabout will have to be navigated too or is that wrong? This route changes this Saturday so I might try out the changes before I need to know just where the route goes and which bus stops at Wanstead I need to use . To say it will not go to Wanstead Place itself seems /is a bit misleading as it just seems to bypass that stop ...or did I misunderstand that ?

Reply to above; w12 will go to hospital from Wanstead High Street in direction of Leytonstone, from Station stop and stops currently used by w14. In other direction it goes to Woodford Bridge not hospital. To get to hospital from High Street you have 2 options, w12 towards Leytonstone or w14 from Snaresbrook Station, but that only an hourly service, and doesn't actually go into hospital.

I check both W12 and W14 today for one trips each. I am surprised that W14 seem busy but W12 didn't seem very busy! However, let see how it go from this Saturday when lots of changes to W12,W13,W14 and 549 (withdrawn). 😬
