There’s a video on Tik Tok of an aftermath of a car crashing into an Enviro 400 MMC. That pleasant individual that is Laurence Fox was of the drunken occupant of that car. He was the one that was filming the aftermath. He hasn’t left London? no.

You can see pretty much every 18reg is on the 133, 156, 344 or 345 right now whilst the 196 uses some older hybrids, although the 196’s old hybrid swarm today is a bit surprising

In the beginning, the 133 was using a lot of 196 MMC’s alongside LT’s whilst waiting for the Electroliners to enter so the 196 was seeing a number of older Enviro 400H’s. The number dropped as the 133 converted to Electroliners but has grown again because a number have moved from WL into QB presumably to help with bedding in the Electroliners and the 211 needs the LT’s so less of them about (415 still seeing a couple of conventionals since the 211 moved into QB)

Today, I saw 2 unregistered Kite Electroliners on the move at Twickenham. They both surprisingly displayed Abellio on the front blind. Both were literally a minute apart heading towards Fulwell. These are most likely the R70 batch.

A lot of the MMCs now have LEDs, I wonder if TUK will stop buying powerblinds for their slightly newer buses and will now go with LEDs, honestly seems like a good idea because they could also be used taken out and used for newer buses if a bus with LEDs were to get withdrawn. If the reliability of them can be fixed, and not plagued with issues like the 276's BZLs, I think it's a much better upgrade
From what I know, these are the buses that have LEDs as of now: - 2524, 2526, 2527, 2529, 2535, 2541, 2542, 2544, 2545 & 2550

I imagine powerblinds will only be replaced on newer buses as part of their refurbishment for a future existing bus contract, a possible example on that being the 196 with its 18 plate MMCs

Those are the ones plagued with issues TBF, it seems to only be the 276 motors who are having major issues. The ES's N137 rear blind issue looks to have been resolved or certainly improved upon and the majority of the Caetanos at WL that had their blinds re-done, which I presume have Mobitec screens, have had no issues since this change.

I imagine powerblinds will only be replaced on newer buses as part of their refurbishment for a future existing bus contract, a possible example on that being the 196 with its 18 plate MMCs I thought the cost of powerblinds also went up which is also making more operators go for them rather than LEDs, which don't have to be replaced in the long run to make sure more routes are inserted or a destination rename etc. It's expensive for an LED at first, but it saves a good amount of money in the future!
