I have just read a very detailed post elsewhere from a paramedic who drivers rapid response vehicles. They do get sent fines, and have to appeal each time. They don't get ULEZ fines though, I believe they get fines for rule breaking just like any other profession.

Only private companies get fined not the NHS, LFB, MPS as they have a limited exemption with TfL as they need to source dozens if not hundreds of specially equipped vehicles. Also, after reading the article, it seems like he has been informed multiple times about some of his fleet being non compliant with ULEZ

How will Ulez sway voters in the mayoral election?- Since the London-wide ultra low emission zone (Ulez) was expanded in August 2023 it has generated more than £130m in revenues
- Transport for London (TfL) says the scheme will not make any money by 2026
- An election expert has said "Ulez could make a difference in a very, very tight mayoral election"

Feels like the Tories really threw away this election. I suspect any strong candidates decided to sit this one out as they feared backlash against the abysmal performance of the government. Khan really does not deserve another term. The most ineffective MoL we have had since powers were devolved and his virtue signalling nonsense really shows his priorities are not in the right place.
Bojo doesn’t seem so bad in comparison.

Heard Sadiq on a programme saying that he will improve buses easier if a Labour govt is in power.
I do agree that seeking funding to complete the bus electrification by 2030 will come if we get a half decent govt.

Anybody can stand up and say they will improve something if somebody else pays for it. Unless khan stands up and shows a promise to pay from Labour Government I wouldn't take the comments seriously . Any new Government is going to look after its marginal seats before throwing more money at London, they always do.

www.susan.london/planSusan Hall has finally posted a manifesto, with only 10 days to go, and as expected it is the usual stuff. Khan bad, ULEZ bad and little else. One mention of note is to introduce Superloop to Chingford and Romford - which of course Sadiq has already pledged. I remember when they wrote off Superloop as 'Superflop' - even they know that this was a good policy. Research has already shown this manifesto has a £515m black hole.

While I despise sadiq khan like anything, I am seriously lamenting the fact that twice in a row, there are no other candidates who are credible. Like Shaun Bailey last time, Susan Hall is almost a candidate who no one wants to vote for. Like seriously, while the party is all over the place at this point, can they not find one serious candidate who will be credible? Would have made for a much closer race. Right now it’s almost a write-off in some ways

And how big is Sadiq's black hole?

Right now it’s almost a write-off in some ways I despise Sadiq and really doubt I will vote for him after the last few years. Despite this I am likely to vote Labour at the General Election for the first time in a long while.
