One vote already for Count Binface and the poll's only been up two hours! Certainly shows the state our political system is in now.

I honestly have no idea where I’m voting this time around. In my opinion Khan has to go just on ULEZ and law and order but there are no inspiring candidates on the list either - it’s going to come down to the least worst which is a very sad state of affairs

Khan is likely to retain the route with Existing Promises

They are all equally as bad candidates. Sadly Khan will win and honestly we deserve it, we are all complicit in this downfall of society. Khan brings nothing to this city but misery, waves of crime and such an entitled attitude. London will fall but not before the country will as nothing will change under a Labour government.

Nobody. Personally the issue for me is that Sadiq Khan can get away with murder in possibly his soon 3rd term due to a dreadful opposition. I guess the best option for me is to figure a way to spoil my ballot. I am also weary of voting the same party for 3rd term after how Labour behaved after it was re-elected in government back during 2002 and onwards. Wasn’t even awe inspiring back in 2021 either, yet was best person out of the lot. I say this very lightly.
Will vote for my current city AM though. Was very active as an councillor in my ward before boundary changes and is ok as an AM as well.

Seems so far I am unique in the poll!
Ditch the established parties, they do not serve your need. Vote independent!
Look at all the candidates, read, listen to what they have to say ... then decide who is best for you ... don't follow the herd.
If 7 or 8 people could win, they would not take your vote for granted!

There seems to be quite a few independents running, I am weary about them as their power in office will be relatively weak as they'll have no influence over government and also the GLA which will probably end up ripping them to shreds as a result. Even if you are a mayor from the party that is opposition in government you have a platform to lobby the government with. I can't see any independent getting that support from whatever party ends up in opposition after the next GE, or even in government. Livingstone was a very unique case, with him being a Labour mayor running under the independent banner. He did always intend to work with Labour and Labour always did intend to use their influence over him to make policies in their favour.

Maybe if the Mayor and the government were not playing childish political games, then maybe they may serve the people that elect them, rather than dancing to the rhythm of their master. I would hope an independent plays no political games and has a worthwhile relationship with any government ... who would not want to seem to be undemocratic. You are the Mayor of the Capital city ... you should not be playing national party politics in that role.

You are the Mayor of the Capital city ... you should not be playing national party politics in that role. But I am doubtful whether an independent wouldn't play party politics. Most people do align with a political party on the spectrum, whether you support them is another matter though and chances are that you'd probably play ball a bit more with the party that aligns with your views and the ruling/opposition parties would behave accordingly. It's looking like a Labour government will be in place by the end of the year. If an independent mayor wants to introduce a right wing policy then chances are that a Labour government would give them grief attempting to implement it, the opposition party may have some level of support for the candidate but will probably not endorse any policies directly as they ran their own candidate who was unsuccessful. By which point you'd be in a better position if you voted for Susan Hall as she'd at least have the support of the opposition to get her policies through. I am no fan of Hall at all, but I think that if you are intent on the city having a mayor who can implement policies then you really should be sticking with the major parties who have the finances and support available to the mayor.

I am going to say little other than that has worked well so far! 2020s London is an embarrassment compared to 1990s London ... London has got progressively worse since we had a Mayor or should that be Mare! There are a wide spectrum of independents (and lesser parties) covering a wide range of political preferences, so there is no bucket to be pumped into by saying vote independent! **EDIT** Good to see a vote for a new independent ... someone has balls (or not if they were female ) and not a sheep! Know little about this guy, will check him out in the morning.
