You would not want to be part of that legal team that went after Trump, their careers are as good as finished. Or they're probably highly sought after now as they had the guts to take on such a difficult case. Imagine the main guy will be debarred ...

Blacklisted maybe but not disbarred, not sure the President would have the power to do that. It’s all moot now anyway as the US Justice Department has confirmed they will begin dropping charges against Trump this ending any pending legal action against him. It’s tradition in the US not to investigate or prosecute sitting Presidents. Who knows though come 2029 there may be a whole new set of charges against him.

This election came down to the price of gas per gallon, stupid. I don't think it did. It's an oversimplification, however is true. The bottom line really is are Americans better off in 2024 than they were in 2020? Many decided they were not so have voted to change the ruling party.

Well that was disapointing. Another 4 years of Trump. Labour publicly sending people to campaign against him is not looking like a great move now! Good, and I hope they are punished for it; nincompoops

Looks like he has thrown Khan under the bus to face off Trump on his own, what a coward. I welcome the fact that Lammy has now grown up and is taking a pragmatic approach to working with Trump. Strong relations with America are even more important since we left the EU. The Democrats were seeking to punish the UK since Brexit and clearly had zero willingness to work with us to deepen our relationship. The axis between liberalism and conservatism is getting increasingly polarised and for me as a centrist, it’s getting to the point where I have to pick a side because the middle ground is no longer represented. Any force that is against identity politics and stupid woke ideology is a win for me. Trump’s victory is the American people saying that they have had enough of all that nonsense.

Lammy will be gone from his role by January , Starmer doesn't have a backbone as it is and Farage will push for it .

I don't know whether this may put us in an unenviable position. It's just that I read a few months ago that we are the only major country not to be facing a General Election in this American Presidency term. So, Keir Starmer is the only such leader to have to face Donald Trump for as long as this.
