I got a question to ask drivers on here. Do ibus announce stops when you run empty (Not in service) to the depot or en route a start of service? I'm going to make book on the first person to ask how 'she' knows if the bus is in service or running empty. There's got to be a couple! ;D ;D Destination code 98 is for not in service journies either scheduled or as part of a curtailment, when you enter this you appear out of service on the controllers screen and you do not appear on countdown screens, however when you are running light along your line of route the stops still get announced sometimes!

Indeed, also if you are in service and don't enter a curtailment INTO iBus then you appear on countdown screens as doing full journey

To back up Expressliner2's message, its Simple: If youre running light to START service or at the END of service, no stops are announced no matter if you run LOR or not as ibus will automatically determine a Start of service run or end of service run using the schedule timings stored in the system that are operated via syncronised clock and GPS. If you're running light to make up time (and therefore use destination code 98) via LOR then stops are annoucned but the mileage gets recorded at Out Of Service. Basically drivers use a dedicated destination code (usually code 98) that they enter into the ticket machine to tell the Countdown and Control computers that that particular journey is a dead run, even if its meant to be a service run (i.e. the bus is running light due to late running for instance), then in such cases a Lost Mileage Log is created and recorded.

VLA98 iBus screen wasn't working but the announcements were on. (Route 243) Wrong topic. The place to report this is in the 'TFL bus faults' board

I heard on a 133 yesterday: "Kennington Station alight here for Northern Line" with the same at Elephant & Castle and Borough Stations, also "Elephant & Castle, Newington Causeway alight here for Bakerloo Line". Is this a test?

Just found this so my apologies for quoting an old post, BUT: I have found that iBus will lock on to a route when running out of service. I've had it any number of times running dead from RM garage to Cranham to start on a 248 - come down Station Lane, approach Hornchurch Town Centre and then suddenly I get the bejesus scared out of me by "Hornchurch Town Centre/North Street" announcing unexpectedly. And that's with the "dead" journey programmed in

One of the first I believe being tested was Southwark Station. I would suspect these are being rolled out where possible. I heard on a 133 yesterday: "Kennington Station alight here for Northern Line" with the same at Elephant & Castle and Borough Stations, also "Elephant & Castle, Newington Causeway alight here for Bakerloo Line". Is this a test?

I managed to get a recording of this at Elephant & Castle, Kennington and Borough.
Here is a video of what I was talking about for those of you that haven't yet heard it, it announces "Borough Station alight here for Northern Line" and shows 'Borough Station alight for Northern Line':

One Questions for u guys bus driver. Today in the afternoon, i checking my bus countdown on mobile to check how long for route 269 to turn up at the bus stop. However it say 269 to bexleyheath in 5 mins. so in mins later on, it gone ! so in act 5 mins, route 269 turn up and i saw the two dots on the ibus screen. i thought why this bus driver decide to turn this off . In this result , could be lost mileages? but this bus is act running in the service!!! funny enough, the same happened in the past week, but change around. when real bus time say 3 mins. and it turn up but as in 'not in service' toward Bromley North. What diffenece between lost milesage and real time to shown on public mobile countdown when people know it going to be turn up!. However i find few bus drivers failed to do this job but no idea whatever he/she being told so by the control service from the bus garage? It very important for us like passenger want to know how long will the bus turn up without mess about with the ibus or real time!!! that the good questions!! Im not totally against them at all. Just wondering !!!

Probably mentioned already but noticed that the 'crew change' announcement is back on the buses. Today a 200 displayed "BUS WILL WAIT HERE WHILST DRIVERS ARE CHANGED". Has there been other recent changes?
