Then the lady rushed to the cab and started accusing the driver and the driver clearly said the light wasnt on the dashboard but the lady was having none of it and started getting more abusive to the driver and being persistant in that she pressed the bell. And what usually follows this tirade of abuse is "Well it says back there that you're stopping".... Like we can see THAT

Like we can see THAT Lol yeah i was on the 61 a few weeks back pressed the bell way before the stop and stood by the rear doors but all of a sudden my driver kickdowned for the hill and went past my stop so i pressed the bell loads of times and he looked in his mirror and i kindly said 'i did press the bell mate' he appologised and opened the doors. Simple no need for an argument. However an incident that made me quite angry was when an elderly lady pressed the bell for her stop the light came on the dash and the iBus screen but the driver drove past the stop the elderly lady approached the driver and said she pressed the bell and the driver was quite rude in return and saying 'i didnt hear the bell ding' i really felt like stepping in and saying that shes supposed to look at the light on the dash!!!

I wondering what the problem for some people not bother to put the ibus message out? Could be the fact that people don't listen to the iBus announcements anyway. I can play the one about moving down the bus countless times but the only way I get any movement is to turn around and shout down the bus....... Lol yeah i was on the 61 a few weeks back pressed the bell way before the stop and stood by the rear doors but all of a sudden my driver kickdowned for the hill and went past my stop so i pressed the bell loads of times and he looked in his mirror and i kindly said 'i did press the bell mate' he appologised and opened the doors. Simple no need for an argument Precisely. If you're polite to us, we'll be polite back. If it's a genuine error on my part I'll always endeavour to stop if it's safe. If it's a passenger trying it on and getting abusive because they were daydreaming and missed their stop, then sorry, we're going to the next stop.... The light on the dash is all well and good, but the position I have the steering wheel in means more often than not that light is blocked!

Paul - totally agree on the fact that passengers don't listen to the announcements. On the 150 we currently have a stop closure (without alternative arrangements I might add) in both directions at South Park Drive in Ilford. I tend to play the "The next bus stop is closed" announcement TWICE with the doors open and then again as I move away. And despite that I still had someone ring the bell for it this morning.... Needless to say I'm finding a lot of people getting off at the next stop and walking back ;D

Paul you know the simple solution? just lean forward to see the light A plus on the enviros is the bus stopping sign is right down the front so i expect the drivers can see it. I think buzzers and bells need to be more prominent in bus cabs as a majority ive seen/heard make no sound what so ever in the cab.

Paul you know the simple solution? just lean forward to see the light Yeah, on both versions of the Enviro I use that bus stopping sign to see if the bell has been pressed, although at night, the digital dashboard display also shows up quite well. During the day it's almost impossible to read that digital display! Most of our buses make some sort of noise in the cab. There are one or two that are very quiet though. They have been reported.......

Just means a 10 minute walk to my house after getting off. In fact, howcomes you use the 496? Anyway, got a 174 the other day and the driver made a quick announcement for all passengers to "hold on, hold on tight please" RM drivers seem to have a sense of humour ;D

In fact, howcomes you use the 496? Well i used to only use it in the morning from Romford Station to my School then after school walk roud to Gallows Corner and jump on either a 174,498 or a 647 but now i get it on the way home cause i cant be bothered to walk ;D I can also safely say that its quicker to get a 496 into Romford rather than getting one to Harold Wood then a 256 into Hornchurch then a 248 home (only did that to go on the Omnicitys, took forever ;D)

Canning Town Routes. For some strange reason all of the routes excluding the 147 say 'XXX to Canning Town' and the 147 says '147 to Canning Town Station' which is the same place!!! I think all of the routes should get the iBus canged to XXX to 'Canning Town Station' Also Routes terminating at this station show on the iBus 'Canning Town Station' and passing routes say 'Canning Town Bus Station' which makes no sense really. I think they shoud all say 'Canning Town Bus Station' Aldgate same problem the 115. '115 to Aldgate Station' and the rest 'XXX to Aldgate' again same place! Bromley North. Seeing that its a Station I think it will makes sense to change all of the iBus to 'XXX to Bromley North Station' Marlyebone Same 'XXX to Marlybone Station' Stratford Same 'XXX to Stratford Station' Tottenham Court Road Same 'XXX to Tottenham Court Road Station' Golders Green Same 'XXX to Golders Green Station' Many more to think of! The word Station can help someone rapidly! Especially If they have no clue where they are going. I personally think whoever proposed the current recordings was Lazy in the process

I know some drivers on here serve the Bromley area.
Ive noticed when buses approach Bromley South Stn you get a bonger in the cab alerting drivers of a low bridge. Why is it alerting for as the low bridge is in Waitrose supermarkets carpark which you have to go through pay barriers to access. Buses would never go down there so whats the point?
Also noticed single deckers iBus alerts drivers of a low bridge when low bridges dont effect them

When running light to Bromley South on a 126 there is a low bridge on Homesdale Road. It's an arch bridge that is like 10'1" or something like that, Take it in the middle of the road and all is fine. It's funny you mention about the bridge in a car park because when a 160 or a 492 (or any decker I assume) turn round at Sidcup Station we get a low bridge warning for the bridge out on Station Road (for all that don't know it's 2 roads away and completely inaccessable from the Station!!!)
