How do you know when a Hybrid enters EV mode?
In a Hybrid car it is displayed but the odd thing is that it shows as in EV mode even when the engine is on!

Okay what’s the length of the LT 11.2m or 11.3m?

Okay what’s the length of the LT 11.2m or 11.3m? It's officially 11.2m - I remember reading it's spec a number of years ago and it's length rounded down to 11.2m

I know we’re talking an absolute max 11.25m to round down to 11.2, so just 5cm. But that’s what can make all the difference sometimes!

How do you know when a Hybrid enters EV mode? In a Hybrid car it is displayed but the odd thing is that it shows as in EV mode even when the engine is on! What do you mean by EV mode? Do you mean when the vehicle is being powered solely by electricity without the use of the diesel or petrol engine? If so, the simplest answer is can you hear the diesel / petrol engine running? If not it is in EV mode.

Obviously on buses it is not visible except for the driver on the dashboard.

I see 'EV Ready' as just that, the car's hybrid system is switched on ready for EV Mode to be activated...usually automatically but also by driver selection if sufficient power in battery allows it.

My understanding of the meaning of 'EV ready' in this respect is that the battery has sufficient charge etc, so that the car is ready to go into EV mode when the conditions (eg speed etc) allow.

Your right in that sometimes there is a difference but that usually applies to 1m rather than something very tiny like 5cm?

The 49 couldn't run using 10.9m BCEs originally but frequently used 10.8m SPs. Actually, the BCE is marked as 10.8m on evbus.co.uk so it must have been down to rounding error.

As long as the precise measurements are available I can't see that whether to quote a length rounding up or down matters really.
