This morning I noticed DLA142 on the 50 which had fog lamps fitted on the lower front bumper, similar to the latest Enviro 400's. Remember seeing this bus last month and the lamps were not there. Besides, this vehicle is in an un-refurbished state.

You sure you saw the right bus? DLA142 had the daytime running lights (btw they are not 'fog lights') in 2008 while it was up north. Can't remember if this has been mentioned but WVL104 now has lights either side of the rear side blind like all 53+ reg WVL's have.

You mean 05reg+ WVLs have it. is it possible that euro 3 tridents can be modified to euro 5 including chaning the grille to the offside.

DLP69 also has 'daytime running lights' fitted as well, and VLW23 DLA142 did a brief stint on the 243, she travels about ;D

It should be possible as there's not much difference between euro4 and euro5 engines....and the engine panels can be replaced or modified so that the grille's on the offside.

Re the discussion about re-engine to euro5, the engine is nearly the same as a euro 4 and will fit in as a replacement for a euro3. However your comment about switching the rear end around simply would not make financial sense. The upgrade from euro 3 to 4 cost appox 18k per bus, that is 10k more than the exchange engine. To totally re-engineer the back end in my estimation would cost in the region of >25k. It is not just a case of a few panels. ADL have done it for euro5 and that took them years to redesign and get right. You would get no payback from the remaining life of the bus even if you saved 0.5mpg. Engineering is not as simple as some people think.

Nothing strange about the blinds, the refurbed PVL's for the 321 & 363 have the old style front blind layout.

Not entirely a mod, but 17567 (NS) has had a pair of VLA (55-reg) style rear indicators fitted to the upper part of the rear pair. In other words, out of the bottom six, the top two have these style, whilst the middle two are the original style
