I've posted this a little late as I drove TA648 on the 266 about 3 weeks ago. This bus has had an Enviro 400 (ZF) engine installed, but 3rd,4th & 5th gears seem to have been stretched out. ZF gearbox you mean which all Metroline e400s have had from new . They have Cummins engines.

I'd love for ELBG to do this to their Voith EuroIII's ;D

I had vlw162 LJ03MRX on the N38 this morning about 1am from shaftesbury avenue to angel this bus is so weird as (from upstairs) when it pulls off it sounds like a hybrid and when its moving it sounds rather silent and not like a b7tl at all. From down stairs it sounds like a normal b7tl, mind you the bus is really quick off the mark and in general speed

Hopefully future Metroline retrofits will be with the 300bhp euro5 engines.

It's just a shame that not more of London's companies have gone for the Voith boxed E400 rather than the rather boring and bland ZF

Also, a pity Quality Line haven't been awarded more double deck orders, especially as their existing Trident Enviros are on Voith.

I know they're the GAG company that seem to prefer that option, though i seem to remember the 24's batch sounding like they were on ZF (haven't been on one in over a year )

What I really dont understand is why the euro 5 enviros are plated as 250bhp though they have 300. As forthe gemini 2 I could not find the plate with the engine details, I saw the chassis and wrights plates they are situated at the bottom of the front doors where the single seat is (or directly opposite where they are on e400s)

Dont know if this can realy be counted as a modifiction however VP 340 at HD now has 2 cosmic fainsa seats (i think thats how its spelt) around 3 rows from the back seat.

That's not a mod then; they'd simply be replacement seats (assuming HD don't have any more of the correct seats in stock). Dont know if this can realy be counted as a modifiction however VP 340 at HD now has 2 cosmic fainsa seats (i think thats how its spelt) around 3 rows from the back seat.
