I'm no wheel fanatic but I notice Go-Ahead London (LG and LC) are gradually removing those Stainless steel wheel trim rings on their Volvo buses (well all types of volvos fleets) and MALs, this is somehow becoming some very strong sighting for me, are the steel wheel trim rings no longer needed so that the wheel nuts can be easily checked?

From what ive read on here before those discs help to tell if a nut is loose. Same with the plastic strips that sit on the nuts. Forgot the proper name of those plastic things

Not sure where to put this one, so put it here. Before getting on 3952 today i noticed it has gained a brand new set of destination blinds which show "Bexleyheath, Shopping Centre". Seems like the person who orders blinds at DT got it right this time, but its the only DT single deck that has that blind as all the other Cadets and E200s have just "Bexleyheath". I was very surprised DT kept the old blinds before so one could be put back into 3952 when something happened to the 2009 set of destination blinds.

The DMC's at UX have lost their "Stand clear, doors opening" "Doors closing" audible warning in favour of one long beep.

The DMC's at UX have lost their "Stand clear, doors opening" "Doors closing" audible warning in favour of one long beep. Omg! The last time I heard those audio warnings was ten years back when the 295 was converted from SW's Metros to X's Darts. Not living in a Firstbus area I had thought they were long since discontinued, especially as the centre doors took ages to open/close because of the audio.

Anyone know what engine TNA33386 has in it now? It was retrofitted sometime during its working life but was it with a euro4 Cummin unit or the Cat D7 variant?
Also, what other London bonnet numbers have the Cat D7? (besides TA346)

17890 of BK has had it's original rear lights removed and replaced by the same style on the later Tridents of 53-reg onwards. Not sure if Stagecoach are looking to do that on other refurbs

Not sure if Stagecoach are looking to do that on other refurbs 17890 is a U vehicle To add, i think you meant 17880?? If so, it might have been done at BW along with the other batch 17879, 17881-17888, 17909-17933 a couple of years ago, if not i think they might have always been like that

Only quickly saw the fleetnumber from the rear of 17485 in South Street. From then on all I could see was the rear left corner of the bus Either way, I'd be interested to see if Stagecoach do continue to do this as they are much clearer at night to see, though not so much in direct sunlight ;D Also, these lights were only installed directly on the 53-reg batch, so from those that were at PD etc onwards. The 03-reg never got them as standard, though they did have the lights stopping sign on the interior. So if it was as standard, then I'd be very suprised, especially as BK's original batch had standard bulb rear lights from new
