Thank You Wouldn't really count this as an old topic due to the ongoing crossrail project. Can be turned into a update thread? Rules of the forum are that you can only bring up an old thread if the post contains RELEVANT information. That post was certainly NOT relevant So, if you or I had new information concerning depots, rolling stock etc that hadn't been posted, then that would be acceptable

It was that way for MANY years, and worked well.

Some new photos of Canary Wharf crossrail station are here, for 2nd anniversary of start of work. As can be seen station box is nearly all dug out (known as level -6), and the outline of tunnel can be seen on one end, once the tunnel boring machines have passed through they will build the platforms (level -5). The concrete ceiling already constructed is level -4 and ticket hall will be here, level -3 was the first to be built (cast on dug out dock bed before digging below), they are now working up and part of level -2 has already been built. As I understand it the upper levels are shops, resturants etc. These will be opened sometime in 2012 (with the station opening about 5 years later) Can be easily viewed from bridge, or walkway behind HSBC building. There is also the annual free motorexpo at Canary Wharf from Monday 6th to Sat 12th www.crossrail.co.uk/news/press-releases/excavation-first-crossrail-station-nears-completion-1
