For the overground rail replacement service from Camden Road to Willesden Junction. Between Finchley Road and West Hampstead, instead of stopping outside Finchley Road Underground Station, why can’t it stop outside Finchley Road & Frognal Station bus stop (13 & 113 & N113) and then go up Finchley Road, turning left at West End Lane, then stopping outside West Hampstead Thameslink Station for West Hampstead and then from there going to Brondesbury?

West End Lane between Finchley Road and West End Green is unsuitable for buses given the width of road and parked cars. You could send the buses up to Fortune Green Road and back down to West Hampstead, but that would be a long way round. Also a lot of buses turning right from West End Lane into Iverson Road will likely create traffic issues, the turn often struggles to cope with the existing number of vehicles. While I appreciate Finchley Road Station is a short walk from Finchley Road & Frognal the existing routing is the most efficient option with least disadvantages.

I've been down that section of West End Lane on a rail replacement bus (for Thameslink) - it's OK for one bus in one direction, but I agree a two-way service wouldn't work.

If the road is clear it is fine for one way, but once you have cars coming in the other direction with few places to pull over due to parked cars, it might be somewhat tricky.

Noticed the DLR has no rail replacement today. It is closed Tower Gateway / Bank to Poplar. Not sure if this is normal or perhaps its getting hard to cover rail jobs so easier to direct passengers to local buses?

Not sure if this is normal or perhaps its getting hard to cover rail jobs so easier to direct passengers to local buses? I would imagine it's just been more difficult to cover rail jobs, especially as there were quite a few routes on last weekend. Since Sullivan's don't do rail work, and the main other operators such as Metroline, Go Ahead, Transport UK, Ensign and Stagecoach already having multiple rail jobs of their own to cover, there's just probably not been any spare drivers or vehicles available. And DLR-1 having quite a few local bus routes paralleling it, compared to the others, would have made it the least impactful to cut

The replacement situation in Richmond is quite confusing for passengers. Pick up is at stop Z, which is the set down point for buses terminating at Richmond Bus Station. Then buses go round the one way system and sail past stop C, which most passengers are waiting at as it’s facing the right direction and is where the 65, 110, 190 etc stop.
Passengers are understandably confused and angrily waving at the drivers, who have to point to the other side of the road to a stop that is facing the wrong way! Even if the buses stand at stop Z they really should be allowed to pick up at stop C which is where most passengers will be waiting whether there are staff at stop Z or not.
