The 83 will move to the new Alperton base on 17th September. The 90 will transfer in to take its place at PV. As the 90 has a smaller PVR than the 83, might this now allow the N31 to move to WJ to interwork with the day route? There is still plenty of hybrids to run the N31 with

Metroline love an outstation I’m not even sure why they need this outstation. They aren’t exactly short on space and if the cuts go through Metroline could find themselves with huge excesses of garage space. Unless they are planning on completely decimating RATP and Abellio I just can’t see why they need more space.

They’ve already closed PA and the future of WJ is still unsure as there’s still the possibility of Network Rail getting the land back. With the possibility of the lease of RP not being renewed and if they don’t find an alternative site, those routes could be up for grabs if RATP can’t house them.

Your last point about RP isn’t accurate , given RATP have X / V and S close by to decanter routes in if they need to.

While that is true for the 18/220/224/228/266/440, the 223/258 would be too far from the garages you suggest, and currently the Sovereign garages are all at full capacity, even more so now with some buses parked overnight at the golf course. The only way that could work if RP were to close, is if the 698/X140 move to HH, then 258 to SO and 223 to CP.

“[Additional vehicles used for operational purposes to be removed]” just to confirm what does this mean? So will the VWs move to Athlon Road until the new electric BYD’s are introduced in 2023? The 83 uses a 20th bus to cover for them running to PV garage for layovers. That will eventually revert to the standard PVR of 19 as awarded on tender once Athlon Road opens I gather. Strongly suspect the VWs will move over though in the interim. There is no confirmed order of BDE vehicles yet either. Although BDEs aren’t officially on paper for 83, I was told that it’ll get BDEs by a reliable source from Metroline. Personally I think if the electroliners or BZLs are a success I’d hope they’d be ordered for it.

The VWs on the 83, 297 and 483 will be free. Will they be the first Metroline travel VWs withdrawn or moved elsewhere within Metroline to help withdraw the older buses within the Metroline fleet? The ex First London VWs will probably most likely be withdrawn.

And possibly E200EVs for the SD routes, unless the 384 gets Optares?

The ex First London VWs will probably most likely be withdrawn. Apparently they’re going to keep about 10 or so Ex First London VWs for rail Replacement just like TE1576-81 then withdraw the rest. Hopefully when the LK12/62 VWs come free from 83,297&483 they’ll replace older buses at other garages and keep some for Rail Replacement instead of the First London TEs and VWs. Who knows, a lot of buses will come free from route cuts, contract renewals etc. Metroline need to secure and retain some contracts with the Hybrids that’ll be free like E2,E8, etc.

Although it stated all new I wonder if the 83 or 297 will use not only the space BDEs from the 43 currently on the 17 but also any spare from cutting the 43 back to Moorgate.

From my understanding the reason the 90 is moving is to make space for the H91 as Brentford has moved across from its original site….
83, 297 to Athlon Road. 90 to PV to make space for H91 at AH.
Would love to see 112 & H17 to PV but believe H17 is going to WJ? Please correct me as I heard it was an internal notice that it would be WJ.
Looks to be the 32 moving to W, won’t be surprised if the 316 moves to WJ. As previously done with 316 to AC.
