As mentioned on LOTS Metroline has ordered 108 new buses (of 3 types) for routes 4, 90, 98, 153, E2 and E8. It has also allocated fleet numbers to the 102 buses that are already on order, taking the number series up to 3030. Full details will be in TLB720. Oooo can’t wait to see what types for each route. It says three types so here’s my guess: 4 - BDEs 90, E2 & E8 - WDEs 98 and 153 - BZLs Praying to see more BZL DDs, I’m besotted with the Stagecoach ones on the 58 My guess is: Route 4 to get BDEs Routes 90, 98, E2 and E8 to get WDEs Route 153 to get BZL SDs

Couldn't the 153 get BELs to share a common pool with the 46? Particularly aswell as the 4 is likely to follow the W7 and 43 with City's.

Is rubbish that TfL is decreasing frequency on one on the most frequent routes that come every 3 minutes. W7 going down from 17 to 11. I don't know why they want to do this.

Is there demand for every 3 minutes thought it’s a really short route, I don’t know the area so maybe someone who does can enlighten me but does it really need a 3 minute frequency?

Serves a rail black hole in Inner London (as the Northern Heights plans were halted indefinitely by WWII). Buses were filled up at Finsbury Park during the peaks when I used to use this route before the lockdown era, perhaps less filled these days.

I suspect much of the saving is coming from the removal of garage journeys between Muswell Hill and HT garage. In addition, the off-peak and early morning frequency is being increased as well as earlier journeys on weekends. This seems fairly sensible to me as travel patterns have evolved since Covid and there's tended to be a 'spreadout' of commuter trips in the new WFH/hybrid era. Controversially, I think the 358s ieTrams or the displaced Red Arrow SEes should have been put to use on the W7 - big single decks (or bendies better still) I feel would possibly work well on that route.

And the hilly nature of the area no doubt rules out walking or cycling for a number of trips where in different terrain it would form a much bigger mode share

That would suggest to me the 3rd type is maybe the BZL for the 153 with HT not having any Wright types with City's for the DDs (plus LTs still).

That would suggest to me the 3rd type is maybe the BZL for the 153 with HT not having any Wright types with City's for the DDs (plus LTs still). It really depends how LOTs have defined 'type' ... Type may or may not mean 3 different manufacturers.

I think the same as the poster above but I can see E200 BYD EVs being ordered for the 153 providing a common fleet with the 46.

Kites and Electroliners are different types. People are confusing Wrightbus’ terminology here. Wrightbus’ electric range is known as the Electroliner and has two different products: the GB Kite Electroliner and the StreetDeck Electroliner. Electroliner refers to both products but a lot of people only use it to refer to the StreetDeck product. Similarly, they have the GB Kite Hydroliner and the StreetDeck Hydroliner.
