We'll just have to wait and see about the Me's, LOTS suggested that their return is imminent although that has been said before. I am curious to why this batch appears to need so much remedial work yet the others with RATP and Metroline have so far escaped. I don't think a batch of buses have ever been out of service for so long even after other fires?
It does seem strange that whatever the problem is it seems to have only affected this batch.

It does seem strange that whatever the problem is it seems to have only affected this batch. Especially compared to the PB fire, every Metrodecker was taken out of service following it and they certainly weren’t gone for this long.

My thoughts are it's potentiallysomething battery related - if it was a battery fault it would explain how they were able to narrow it down to only this batch with enough certainty to let others still run the model, I and tbh wouldn't expect Optare/Switch to have 17 battery units ready to go so manufacturing/shipping could easily have hoovered up a few of the last months but who knows...? I'm guessing we won't see an RAIB type report that explains what actually happened unless someone like HSE decide to get involved

Will ADL Enviro 747 and SEN47 return that are allocated to the B12 I know SEN47 crashed into someone's garden last year. What even happened to 747? They should return seeing as they are allocated to the B12 and that's still two years away from being renewed at least.

I know they are non standard but would the OMs from the S1 be better to finish of the current contract on the 386 if the current SEs are causing issues? The 386 can fit 10.2m, could use the P12's 61reg SEs once available? But can the 386 fit a full allocation of 10.2m vehicles?

It does seem strange that whatever the problem is it seems to have only affected this batch. It does seem that no two batches of buses are the exact same. Obviously the GAL MEs have a different front end, but it doesn’t mean they’re identical buses to the older ones other than the new grumpy frowning front end 😂 The best example of this are the differing EvoSetis that GAL have. They look similar but the GAL 66-reg EvoSetis are quite different to the first batch of 16-regs. As MCV were quite new to the double deck market they were taking on feedback from operators, like how the newer EvoSetis have less glass on the driver side because operators wanted more advertising space. So even though the model is the same they were constantly tweaking it to appeal to operators. It Seems the Metrodeckers are the same and Switch were doing some tweaking to try and improve the vehicle, except this time these ‘improvements’ ended up being to the newer GAL one’s detriment

Do you think that on its next tender award that the 286 will get Double Deckers. The low hanging trees at Queen Mary's Hospital have been cut back so that double deckers are often out on the route now.

Majority if not all of other fires were down to a fault by a personell working at said operating company
