I agree, most of us are literally just saying it’s ugly and that’s it. Nobody is saying that they will avoid it (apart from Yunus maybe ), nor should anybody be claiming that passengers care about how ugly a bus is because they are unlikely to. I would go as far to say passengers don’t care if a bus is electric or not either. I know others won’t agree but this is just my personal opinion. For the majority of passengers they just want a bus that turns up on time. You very much described the 200, though we're generally happy enough single deck operation's once again gone

For the 75 BD11s confirmed for Go Ahead for routes 101, 321, 333, 473 and SL4. How many are meant to be allocated per route? EBD1-18 are for the 321. Rest are unknown. I'm guessing the 321 is the first of that list to start the new contract, so likely EBD19 with the relevant sequential bonnet number goes to the depot with the next start of contract

Precisely! Roll up to a normal, non enthusiast passenger at a bus stop with this and they’ll just think “oh cool the 321 has turned up” they’ll maybe comment on the interior but that’s all. Operators as you said will have chosen the product based more on the mechanics, range and price. GAL for example may have chosen this as mechanically it’s similar to the Ee’s (updated tech of course, but non the less still the same) and so may make sense for them to go in that direction whilst also considering that in bulk they’re selling for a decent price. Everything there is going to take priority over design. There are some not so nice looking cars out there that people have bought souly down to the mechanical economics. These days it’s main about performance, design is just a luxury addition. End of the day a bus is a bus. No matter what we think they look like it is interesting to see that the EU has voted for an upto 37.6% tariff on electric vehicles from China. Only read the headline grabbing facts so far, so unsure whether this is just cars or all types of vehicles as headlines have used the words interchangeably. Will the UK follow the EUs lead? The fine print is that the tariff depends on how much of the car's components are from China hence why different manufacturers have different tariffs. I'd wager on no for your last question. It's quite interesting to see why different member states were for and against the rules. Germany was heavily against. They are very reliant on exports to China. Meanwhile France, Italy, the NL and Poland were big proponents for. Much less reliant on exports to China. If you had to fit the UK car industry to one of these countries, I'd say Germany based on ownership of many of the nominally British car manufacturers alongside Chinese ownership (in fact MG cars made in China will actually be subject to tariffs in the EU!)

What buses are due for the P12? I was around Surrey Quays and it still runs 100% with Diesels.

Yep, they are it's batch and once PM is ready for the P12's full conversion, the others at C, Q (and AL I think) will move over to PM. Personally, I can't wait as it means yet more SE's to be disposed of which is great for me who isn't a fan of the majority of Enviro 200's

I just saw an EV on the 151, is that a demo bus or the future allocation?
Seems to be on it every single day.

The 151 has been using Electroliner EL1 since February and it’s been around since April 2022. C and Q have used it in the past on the 40 and 119 and the 23 at X very briefly last year. Theres been a ton of pointless speculation about the 151 using Electroliners but IIRC nothing official

You wouldve seen EL1 LY71GHZ which is a demonstrator for the route (used to be on the 40 & 119 as well to note) usually on the route to fill in for defective DOEs etc. I think it wasnt long ago that there was talk in the garages between staff and engineers etc that GAL were thinking about placing a brand new electroliner order for the route… Overall time will tell lets just see what happens with that
