lc1... did you know that, on our XDA's, we can put a bus in, and pend it, until it leaves the stop, and then save it, only then does it save the time? ;D For example... the 242 runs in rotation, and if Im at a busy point, such as Homerton Hospital, I'll pend: '242- East- Tottenham Court Road- 71' '242- East- Tottenham Court Road- 72' '242- East- Tottenham Court Road- 73' ... and then just save them as they leave the stop So, the QSi you saw, was probably just pending you incase a load more buses came, saves rushing, because the machines we're given are so old, they cant handle more than 2 taps on the screen a second, otherwise they freeze (which is why we sometimes have to do it on paper). On average, it takes about 7 secs per bus, which is a pain in the **** when you have about 6 at once!!!

Rant for today Sitting at the bus stop in Lewisham High Street, wheelchair ramp out and I hear a crunch, first thought was that something had happened to the Wheelchair user, but no I saw him making his way along the road, looked in my offside mirror and saw a 21 sticking in my rear put the ramp in a pulled forward and he pulled alongside and said sorry only a scratch and carried on, as I was at the stop before terminus I carried on parked up and had a look and yes it was only a scratch. As I was coming off for finish I noticed engineering manager walking across the forcourt so asked him to have a quick look, explained that it was another one of our buses so there was no need for form filling, he turned round and no you've got to do one No details exchanged all I had was the bonnet number Suppose I'll get my wrists slapped for not taking his details reason I didn't was (it was only a scratch and it was the same Company, no if it had been Selkent/East Thames/Arriva then I would have exchanged details)

Not that I know only guessing but even if its the same company it maybe for insurance purposes. I dare say if we had a shunt with another company bus its got to be recorded. I care understand your frustrations though. If you had a shunt in BX garage its would have to be recorded. lc1... did you know that, on our XDA's, we can put a bus in, and pend it, until it leaves the stop, and then save it, only then does it save the time? ;D For example... the 242 runs in rotation, and if Im at a busy point, such as Homerton Hospital, I'll pend: '242- East- Tottenham Court Road- 71' '242- East- Tottenham Court Road- 72' '242- East- Tottenham Court Road- 73' ... and then just save them as they leave the stop So, the QSi you saw, was probably just pending you incase a load more buses came, saves rushing, because the machines we're given are so old, they cant handle more than 2 taps on the screen a second, otherwise they freeze (which is why we sometimes have to do it on paper). Saturday - Probably got done by a QSI Sunday - Grief off passengers due to poor Serive Control Monday - Hit up the arse by another bus Could have done without having to do the form as well (that was my main gripe, accidents happen just couldn't be arsed to fill out the form )

I would of done the same if another bus scratched me but only because I couldn't be bothered to fill out the accident form I wouldn't have told the engineer but I suppose its best to be on the safe side. My little rant today is Trafalgar Square! Serious traffic problems there all the time. It getting beyond a joke now You just sit there for about 20-30 minutes and nothing is moving. Centrecomm keeps going on abuot it but they don't do anything. They just chat all the time They really need to sort it out up there. Sort out those traffic lights. Theres far too many showing red! Then when it goes green the next one up ahead goes red! Really annoying I going to make this thread a sticky if thats ok?

I much prefer the old Trafalgar Square layout - buses could fly at that time.

Yeah I suppose, I was trying to cover my arse unofficially, problem is now I've done the form the other driver will probably get done for not reporting it and it makes me look like a grass

He definately get disciplined for that wouldn't he? I have had a similar incident when a van touched my mirror and it was bent. Took it to the garage and although the engineer put it back in place he told me I must fill out the accident form which I did. I then had a meeting with the operating manager for some other reason and he looked at my record and mentioned that accident as well as others and said my record is quite bad and I would have trouble gaining employment elsewhere. After that day I don't bother with forms unless its a major crash involved

That is particularly picky I think.. from the EM as well - considering he is also the EM of NX (or are you on about Russell?). You'd think it could just be sorted internally without all the form filling! No Fred Personally I thought it could have been done internally which is why I didn't really bother with exchanging details etc... Was quite funny on the bit for details of other vehicle...Owners name and Address, London Central, New Cross Garage, colour of vehicle, Red, Make and model, President Double Decker ;D ;D Steve, that's my worry as I've had a couple of knocks/passenger incidents (already on a written warning for hitting a parked car )

Even thought I should know this, I dont... when you say "got done by a QSi"... what happens to you? Some points dont require running numbers, all thats recorded is route number, direction and destination... so how will they know its a specific driver?
