There is really no excuse if I ask a bus driver whether I’d be better off waiting for the bus a minute behind for a more likely direct journey to my destination than catching his likely late running bus. ‘Yes’ - he grunted at me, ‘I’m going to Sidcup’. Except, two stops later, he wasn’t. Really poor customer service. Thanks Arriva at Dartford 😡

Is it me or has this hobby become so frustrating? Why is this hobby so rife with speculation? Why is there no official information no more? Why do we just believe in speculation? Someone says that 2+2 is 5 and we believe. What’s happened to this hobby. No difference from here ... Probably 75+% of the posts are pure speculation ... fake news rules supreme in the bus enthusiast world .... if your speculation get repeating more than twice, it has to be accepted as fact .... and woe betide any desenting voices! Take 312 tender award ... virtually every site I have seen says the retained part is the 7 X 15-reg EMCs. As far as I am aware this has not been confirmed, and will be shocked if this is the case ... OK, in preparation for being shocked!

OK, in preparation for being shocked! This hobby and the forum is starting to become very frustratingly unbearable. People are so arrogant about on were they get there information. I joined this forum to be with like minded people because I couldn't talk about buses anywhere else. I liked it because we talked about buses but now the hobby and this has become unbearable. I've been on this forum a long time so I've been learning thing and interacting with people on this forum for a long time. But now it's like speaking to some people is like banging my head agaisnt the wall. Most of the good people with valuable information have gone. Now most people on this forum and the hobby are just speculating. This forum is just full of arguments and people getting over each other. The hobby and the forum is not how it used be. So many people think that there speculation is right. I just don't know what to do about this hobby and forum anymore. I feel like I don't want to share bus information with like minded people. This hobby is not making me happy anymore and I just don't know what to do? How do I know the information that people tell me is 100%?

Yes. I’m afraid I did get quite angry at this particular driver - there really isn’t any excuse for it. He would have known he was running late, but he didn’t bother to tell me.

The last stop for the 19 at Battersea Bridge is "Battersea Bridge Hester Road' but ibus seems to think it's Parkgate Road. Wonder if this will get changed.

Stopped at that stop as long as I can remember. It's not too much of a problem but I often connect to a 170 at that same stop so it's nice to know the waiting time without having to look separately at the same exact stop.

Does anyone know why the 234 is restricted to short SDs? I've looked at the route and there doesn't seem to be a physical restriction preventing DDs let alone longer length SDs. For a route that mostly traverses main roads, with the exception of a few, the 234 should be converted to DDs. I've also seen it get pretty busy but I'm not that familiar with the route.

What I generally do to be 100% sure is I wait for the information to come from the reliable sources on here, that have proved themselves reliable in the past. Otherwise I either don't listen and ignore certain information or I take it with a pinch of salt and wait for it to happen or be 100% confirmed by either one of the reliable sources on here or another website that is reliable. Luckily for certain companies like Arriva, RATP, Stagecoach etc. we have reliable information sources that generally tell us the correct information. Sadly other sources, such as our Metroline source, have disappeared from the forum because people wouldn't listen to what he was saying and were constantly taking their own speculation and what they thought as fact instead of just listening. In the end he had enough, like other sources in the past, after someone called Metroline a conspiracy over the 271s Highgate stand saga. Which is very annoying as now we do not get any news on Metroline fleet movements and plans etc. I really can see why trusted sources either leave or don't post on here though - and I don't blame them tbh.

Unless the stops have been changed around? Stopped at that stop as long as I can remember. It's not too much of a problem but I often connect to a 170 at that same stop so it's nice to know the waiting time without having to look separately at the same exact stop. It is actually quite a recent change. The last stop for the 19 changed from BD (Battersea Bridge / Hester Road) to BE (Parkgate Road) in 2010; this followed the closure of Arriva's Battersea base, which meant that buses now had to use the Elcho Street stand at all times. Previously buses had turned in the shed during the daytime, so had to empty out at the Hester Road stop. For those who weren't familiar with the old shed, it was between Howie Street and Hester Road - the site has since been swallowed up by the Royal College of Art.
More recently (last year?) the Parkgate Road stop was relocated further south due to building works. This meant that the stop could no longer be used by the 19, so it has reverted to stop BD. Not sure if this is meant to be a temporary measure but that might explain why Ibus still hasn't been updated. I haven't been round there for a while so don't know if the building works are still ongoing.

Oh yeah when I meant as long as I can remember only meant in recent years 😁. Very interesting knowledge there so thanks for that didn't know about that. Surely the 19 has served that stop long enough now for it to be changed? Yeah in fact the old stop is still there which I found the other day luckily I just made the 345 😂

I’d imagine the section that goes down the back roads would be the offending part - my guess would be residential issues or possible the wide nature of deckers causing an issue.

I am sad you feel that way, as the hobby should be fulfilling for all involved. Certainly in more recent times there has been more speculation and perhaps less fact, but I think you can tell from past posts and so forth on who is giving facts to the best of their knowledge (that doesn't mean it is always right, things can change, occasionally sources may be wrong), and those who speculate.
