So essentially we have one working day left to get a bailout deal. I keep telling myself "surely they'll get it done, they wouldn't be so stupid to let TFL collapse". But as time ticks on I am getting a bit worried.
If the suits at TFL were politically astute they would immediately grab the upper hand with Sunak and Shapps and remind them that the reputation and confidence in their government over the last week is imploding and "saving the day" with London's transport would be a big political win for them in any effort to get the government back on track.

A government voted in by many people struggling to make ends meet in the midlands and north on the back of a promise to “level up” and not spending all the cash in London. Then alienating that voter base by helping out a Labour mayor who since day 1 has taken every opportunity to blame the government for everything. Nothing much to gain here for the Tories. The only people who will care are Londoners, most of whom would vote for a donkey at the polls as long as it had “Labour” next to its name anyway. I can see a deal being done, only with some hard conditions imposed. Potentially even harder than the last round of funding. The government won’t want to be seen as a soft touch on this occasion, as to be seen to be pandering to London would be even more damaging to their reputation.

Their reputation is already damaged - the north is already done with this government after all the predictable broken promises that already happened. A poorer London hurts all of England, levelling up doesn’t mean restrict or reduce funding to London but the opposite - continue funding London as normal whilst increasing the funding for the north - it’s the only way forward as a whole

Does anyone get nostalgic for the past. Does anyone miss the buses, the liveries and the operators of the past? Like me I have become really nostalgic for the past recently I miss the Plaxton Presidents, Alexander ALX400s, Wright Pulsar Gemini’s, Mk1 Wright Eclipse Gemini’s, Plaxton Pointer 2’s, Marshall Capitals, I miss First London, missed operators having their own liveries on their buses like the Arriva cow horns and Metroline’s blue skirt and I miss buses having noises like the Volvo roar. Sorry I just had to post that.

Yes, a lot of the time in my case as the current scene isn't as interesting from a personal point of view but everyone is different and there will be some who are enjoying what's happening right now.

Sorry I just had to post that. You're not the only one. I miss Arriva's DLA, VLA, DPL, Metroline's TPL and VPL and GAL's Volvo bodied Gemini 2's (forgot the fleetcode). If only time machines exist, I'd go back and have a ride on all of them

If your referring to the ones no longer around, they are Wright Eclipse Gemini's and were also coded WVL with the ones inherited with the East Thames Buses takeover called VWL's.

Sorry I just had to post that. I miss the LBL days, when the grey skirt livery was being introduced. Also the uniformity of the Great London Transport. I did not mind the odd operator infiltrating the capital, like Grey-Green and Eastern National. But when we started to lose London Buses/LT, it seemed horrible.
