LondonBuses184 here. I tried to find the right place to say this as I don't want to disrupt other threads but I think this is the place. I have decided to deactivate my account and I will not be creating another one. I think that most of the members on here are way older than me and have a different way of thinking which is fair enough. But I think sometimes the way I get humbled on here makes me doubt myself which isn't good for me. And I've seen people say that members like me are the reason why the forum has declined so much. As a 17 year old turning 18 next month, I still got a lot to learn but I'd prefer doing that somewhere else. If you meet me in real life I am humble and a genuine guy and I'd be open for a chat about the bus industry or trains. I don't want to just deactivate my account without saying goodbye even though my time on here has been quite short because I don't think it's very pleasant. Many members won't even post on here and they just delete their account. I'm happy I wasn't one of them. This will be my last post on this forum. When you see this my account will probably be gone. I will still come on here but only as a guest to collect news. Goodbye everyone.

And Grant Shapps is speaking the truth? Politicians from all parties are compulsive liars, so probably neither is telling a 100% truth. The worse ones are local politicians, who the majority seem to be corrupt, and lie to cover it up. One of the reasons why many of them go into politics, to attempt to become untouchable

The Mayor and Grant Shapps are at each other’s throats again. Shapps certainly didn’t mince his words in this letter. Not intending to go on like a broken record but seems pretty obvious that the government aren't willing to provide a long term deal and blaming Khan which is a petty excuse. A thought and aware that members on here have said it's unlikely but as Khan says 18% of the bus network is to be cut then why keep the LTs? They cost too much to maintain and daily mechanical faults occur. Imo cheaper to replace them with existing vehicles. Happy to be corrected. What a load of rubbish about they cost too much to maintain. They do not cost more than any other hybrid. So many other bus types have daily mechanical faults.

Seen it suggested elsewhere Stagecoach BW have a lot E400Hs off the road hence the LTs being used on the 205 so I agree it’s certainly now just LTs that have issues.

Arriva recruitment days......presumably for the 248? Has to be for the 248. Spoken to RM drivers in the past saying it is a good route to drive with toilet facilities at either termini. However that doesn't materialise into high TUPE rates with the contract passing. There's also pay to take into account- Grays just being outside the M25 constitutes a lower pay grade than a garage within the London boundary.

At the moment [GY] has had a lot of staff cuts with drivers being loaned from [DX] to cover.

The E400H and City seems to have a lot of electrical problems after a few years in service. They are good once new, but after a few years they seem to develop loads of faults. Common items are ECU, ABS/EBS, and electronic power steering.

A vehicle has collided with a motorbike on the roundabout coming off the A20 next to Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. Avoid the 160 and 269 towards Chislehurst.

I may be late on this but I noticed the lights on the upper deck of my 56 were automatically turning on and off based on how dark the surrounding area was. It was sunny in the morning commute but every time the bus was surrounded by trees or went into darkness, the lights came on and then went off again. I hope this is new otherwise I am going to question my sanity and why I have not noticed it before

So I am guessing you was on a E400MMC which probably has the same feature? I think drivers can override this and the lights stay on as normal.
