I can’t see Stagecoach deviating from ADL. Other TfL contractors may well be more adventurous. Well they've got 2 orders from Switch/Optare coming, necessitating two garages being kitted out with non-ADL charging equipment...so wouldn't be too surprising to see a non ADL order I don't think. As also mentioned they've ordered Volvo products just outside London recently with 30 BZLs for Cambridge due. TL and PD also have non-ADL charging equipment.

Where you been over the last 10 or 15 years since hybrids first started being introduced! Should have been clearer in my post. I mean Hybrids have got very popular from around 2015/2016 going by my obs. Amazing how vehicles can go from a handful (when new from 2007-08) to exceed 3,000!

I am guessing what the author means is that diesels used to be the mainstay on the fleet at one point of time, now few and far (esp in central London)

When all buses or vast majority were Diesel

RANDOM RANT Gonna dearly miss the Diesels. Need to slowly adapt to Hybrid & Electrics! Who shares the same feeling and vibe? Starting to get a tiresome and boring, every few days there are comments about diesel engine buses or hybrid engine buses etc. Just face it life goes on. The same way over the years as we had OPO buses replacing crew, then low floor buses replacing step entrance etc.

There are still plenty of diesels around if he wants to ride them!

Today as been a good example of chaos. Road closures , fatal accidents, train strikes , engineering work, general disruption across the entire network.
It’s bus drivers picking up the flak from all this.

Got to say, unfortunately today has not been a good experience using buses for me. Exactly the sort of things that discourages passengers 1) 115 slamming doors in my face and driving off 2) 108 slamming doors into multiple people at North Greenwich in an attempt to get away from the bus station 3) 77 refusing to open doors even though plenty of space on board 4) 87 refusing to serve any stops on diversion 5) 87 randomly curtailing with no announcement and taking passengers to the stand rather than making any announcement explaining that bus was terminating

The 77 service has fallen off a cliff - constant bunching with near empty buses following each other. Pretty much a daily occurrence to see 2-3 empty buses running on Garratt Lane together in either direction whilst the 44 and 270 are rammed. Recently the 155 has felt so painfully overtimed or congested throughout the entire route. Literally the slowest drivers on Earth averaging 0.2mph and regulating between Elephant and Stockwell when the roads are entirely clear and then the endless traffic on Clapham High Street and in Balham followed by more traffic approaching Tooting Broadway.

I'd certainly make a complaint to TfL about point 4, blatant breach of protocol, but none of it is a great advert for bus travel.

Regarding point 2, people were queueing and in the process of getting on, so was trapping people who were already waiting and boarding Agree that none are a good advert for bus travel
