Out of curiosity has the 2 & 74 ever had a bus stop on Oxford Street reason I ask this is because there is a distance between stops. What I find annoying is passengers constantly ring the bell over and over again in the Marylebone direction thinking the stop is on Oxford Street when it is actually on Portman Street, yesterday this clown pushed the Emergency door button when I was at the lights. Does the 30 have a stop on Oxford Street in the direction of Hackney Wick? In fact every time I do this route without fail the bell is rang at least more than 4 times for this stop makes me wonder if people think ringing the bell constantly will suddenly make the doors magically open. Overall constant bell ringing does not bother me it’s just this particular stop where it is spammed if someone comes up to me and asks why do you keep stopping the answer is “Stop ringing the bell” and it has happened before where people lean on the bells. If there was an announcement “You Only Need to ring the bell once” I would play it 10 times between these two stops ![P-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/pirate.png) I'm pretty sure the Baker Street routes used to serve one of the stops on Oxford Street, but were removed many many years ago to avoid congestion at the stop.
With so few routes running along Oxford Street now they could easily reinstate a stop for these routes on Oxford Street itself. That is where most people want to go after all.

There was also an issue, in that stretch of Oxford Street being open to general traffic to allow access to Portman Street-Gloucester Place (n/b) and from Baker Street/Orchard Street (s/b) so even more reason to avoid congestion at the stops. As you say though, with fewer routes now going towards Oxford Circus, these routes could be moved back.

I agree because many passengers actually want to get off on Oxford Street one in the direction of Baker Street serving Marble Arch Station I don’t think it is necessary to have a stop in the other direction though the Stop on Park Lane is fine. The stop outside Marks & Spencer on Orchard Street is well used.

The 13, 113 and 189 stop at Oxford Street sharing a stop with the 94 outside H&B in the Baker Street direction (94 towards Piccadilly). The 2, 30 and 74 skip it and turn left and stop at Portman Street.

I don't believe they do, the next southbound one being on Park Lane with the northbound as you say on Portman Street Certainly for the last 50 years the 2 and 74 (along with the 2B, 26 and 74B) never had a stop in Oxford Street going straight from Orchard Street to Park Lane with no bus stop. There has been no Oxford Street bus stop since, but I don't know before the early 1970s.

Somebody's had enough of unnecessary roadworks... https://www.tiktok.com/@thekingsleyhamilton/video/7349977871869316384 Good it is about time. they are an absolute f'in joke. Seen some setup on Chadwell Heath Lane/Grove Road around 2 weeks ago, 3 way. Roadworks finished or not going on and the temporary lights which are an overkill and were not needed left in place from 8am and up to 6pm same say with nothing going on. This nonsense has to stop and is why many people fail to respect these temporary traffic lights. I hope more people take this action. Even the four way ones at Oxlow Lane/Frizlands Rd take the pee with a phase for the petrol station exit not needed and on a timing set as other phases.

Not bothered about emergency services, because they above all could use their powers and voice their concerns but do sweet FA. We have over the years ended up with councils restricting road layouts and blocking of side roads and then it takes longer to get to people, if they had voice their concerns and pressure the councils we would not have this kind of mess. So they should just put up and shut up and stay in the jams.

As a result of the C9 works in Brentford, the new bus stop in-between Watermans Centre and Brentford County Court (former stop) has gained the old Brentford county court stop flag, which included the 195.A bit odd that the 195 doesn't even serve the stop, and the bus shelter shows Wilkes Road as the stop name.

Just send am email to TfL regarding the 112. Yesterday was plain ridiculous. The route is frequent. But, they really need to consider rerouting it between North Ealing and Ealing Broadway. I got on at Brentford Cross, time it got to Neasden Shopping Centre, it was very overcrowded at 13.30. Not even the rush hour.I know Westbury Road stops it from being a DD, hence the reroute suggestion.

Madeley Road (which the 112 now uses between North Ealing and the Broadway) suffers from terrible congestion, I'm not convinced rerouting the 112 that way has made that significant a difference to journey times and it has severed useful links to areas by Ealing Common.

Is there any reason why the 148 skips Victoria bus station? The 2, 36, and even the 11 and 211 go through Victoria bus station now, but the 148 is the only one that doesn’t.
