Jesus, that’s certainly not cheap at peak times. Almost as much as it was to cross into Wales and that’s an entire f**king country.

A lot of people still seem blissfully unaware of the toll for the Blackwall Tunnel, I expect the Rotherhithe Tunnel will become even more clogged up than it is now.

Probably not immediately as the Rotherhithe Tunnel is scheduled for a 9 month closure sometime after the new tunnel opens. TfL is still to confirm the actual dates but I suspect it’s waiting on the confirmed Silvertown opening date first.

The off peak charges seem ok as I was under the impression it was going to be £5.00 each way.

I remember joking with friends 20 years ago that every time you saw either a Bridge or a Tunnel in New York it would cost $4 to use...I note that the current toll for the Triborough Bridge is a cool $11.19 for non New York E-Z Pass holders... ...returning to the two London tunnels, I would imagine that the imposition of charge from 6am will drive some dysfunctional behaviour from around 0545 as drivers rush to beat the 6am deadline

Don’t worry the Rotherhithe Tunnel will magically have to close not long after the new tunnel opens and the tolls kick in. Sarcasm aside the local roads around Limehouse will not be able to cope with any increase in cars diverting to use the Rotherhithe Tunnel! The same with the Woolwich Ferry.

The tolls rise and decrease in increments every few minutes to avoid everyone parking up at a certain time or racing to get to the tunnels before higher peak tolls start. I'd imagine something similar here.

Some of the proposed discounts. I don't see this lasting more than the guaranteed period.

Given the stated location, routes 40,176,185 and 484 routes pass the location. 40 & 185 are electric operated and 484 single deck operated, so likely to be a 176. Given date and time, my initial guess would be LT899. Bustimes has its last journey ending in the vicinity, so just upped that initial guess to likely to be LT899

I can see even more abuse of Blue Badges as a result of the exemption! I don't really see the point of the free DLR journeys as they know in reality people who currently use the tunnels are not likely to be only traveling those short distances.
