Just seen LT604 with the bottom left bumper piece installed upside down 😂.
Quite a cubist art piece when the black and red aren’t continuous as they should.

I think it’s about time something shadowed the 220 between Putney Bridge and Hammersmith!!
This morning we got stuck on Putney Bridge Road in temporary light level traffic when there were no such lights, then we couldn’t even get down Fulham Palace Road without leaving people behind at various stops. Whilst we were struggling a 430 overtook us and sped off with single digit loadings. Even when the 295 came in front of us from Greyhound Rd people ignored it to try and get on our bus and got left behind. Around where the route crosses the A40 the traffic has been catastrophic for the last few days, and the number of Putney Bridge turns is insane and if badly timed with the 270 which isn’t a rare occurrence you get tons of people waiting on the bridge and at Brewhouse Lane. On my way back I had to get a 295 and then 430 to the 270 which I missed and even in the long wait no southbound 220s were able to turn up. And as a disclaimer I do not mean to fault or slander RATP because the route’s conditions speak for themselves. A few months back I spotted a 220 in Hammersmith at about 3pm to Wandsworth and the crowd attempting to cram on literally enveloped the entire pavement at the bus station as well as spilling inside with how many people there were…

If the 220 goes down between Putney and Hammersmith you don’t have much alternatives.

Where is the 'Kensington Commonwealth Institute' stand ( link)? And wouldn't it be clearer to just display Russell Square?

And maybe a cheeky renumbering to 420

And leave it that way if Hammersmith Bridge ever reopens, as it will presumably be limited to SD routes again. Then the 265 could reroute to terminate at Castelnau (also cutting the 419 back to Castelnau). And the 283 to terminate at Hammersmith Bridge (north side). Alternatively, could an extension of the 85 up to Hammersmith work?

I wouldn't extend the 85 as it can pick up heavy loads off the tube at Putney Bridge Station, either the 72 as you suggested or reroute the 430 to Hammersmith and extend the 190 to South Kensington.

The Kensington Commonwealth Institute was previously housed in the building now used by The Design Museum, opposite the former Odeon cinema What's odd is that the tender spec for the N31 dated 2022 (see here) still specifies a blind display of Commonwealth Institute even though it closed to the public in 2004. It may have been a local landmark in its day but that was a long time ago!
It's a particularly poor choice of description when you look at the actual first & last stops for this turn. Buses set down on Earl's Court Road at the junction with Pembroke Road, and pick up on Pembroke Road. Both places are several stops away from where the Commonwealth Institute was. A better description would be Earl's Court Road, with Cromwell Road as a qualifier.

Funnily enough, route 328 has that same curtailment but the blind display in use for it at the moment is "Kensington, Cromwell Road". There's a lack of consistency and quite a high amount of inaccuracy (e.g. 89/N89 to Blackheath, Royal Standard despite that they don't go there or 381 to South Bermondsey with a "Surrey Quays" iBus display - two different places) with the destination displays TFL prescribe for routes.
