Just noticed Arrivas Tottenham HVs have no cash tray on the cab door. Good foresight ? Quite a lot of buses at Abellio have been retrofitted with cab doors that don't have the cash trays, improving security for the driver. Presumably the same has happened elsewhere. Occasionally people pay with Saver tickets so the driver has to open the whole door to accept it!

Nice logic, train drivers dont work rest days, but bus drivers can (from Snowman) Managers need to be licensed and all safety procedures in date Funny you should say that about managers and overtime, on LUL the Train Operator grade is the only grade that can't do it - managers, controllers, signal operators, station staff and some other roles which sometimes get involved with the operational railway can all do overtime. Train Operators have a different agreement so the only overtime is involuntary (i.e late running really) but from memory the other grades have a 40 hour per month cap (or something like that).

This train op doesn’t even do involuntary overtime! 😂

Have just helped direct a delivery driver taking an LDP to Metrobus Orpington. Hopefully it will enable them to discard one of the hated SEs. All of the drivers and passengers moan about the gearboxes, but presumably nobody in authority will care until there is an injury.

You can keep moaning rightly or wrongly but the SE's won't be going anywhere - as I previously explained, they are part of the 162 & 352 and will remain most likely for the next few years and could remain longer if both routes are retained.

I appreciate that they are awful buses but an injury would seem unlikely and I fear MB are stuck with them for the foreseeable.

Does the SE saga mean that MB is seen as the dumping ground for all of Go Ahead’s rubbish? Whoever signed off the acquisition of these awful gearboxes?

Would still rather the LDP was used in traffic than the SE.

Does the SE saga mean that MB is seen as the dumping ground for all of Go Ahead’s rubbish? Whoever signed off the acquisition of these awful gearboxes? Surely it's just that they were unlucky in having routes start new contracts just at the time when Go-Ahead were into ordering buses with cr*p gearboxes. Plenty of other Go-Ahead garages have also been lumbered with these things - I think all of the SEs from 64- to 65-reg have them.
The hefty PVR cuts to the 100 unfortunately released quite a few of them just when MB needed newer buses too.

If you actually have taken the time to read any of my recent replies to you, you would have your answer - MB isn't the only garage with ZF Tronic SE's. Both SW & PL have them on the 322 & G1, SI on the 100 & MG on the 386. MB isn't a dumping ground for what you might refer to as rubbish.
