Does the SE saga mean that MB is seen as the dumping ground for all of Go Ahead’s rubbish? Whoever signed off the acquisition of these awful gearboxes? Surely it's just that they were unlucky in having routes start new contracts just at the time when Go-Ahead were into ordering buses with cr*p gearboxes. Plenty of other Go-Ahead garages have also been lumbered with these things - I think all of the SEs from 64- to 65-reg have them.
The hefty PVR cuts to the 100 unfortunately released quite a few of them just when MB needed newer buses too.
Abellio also have ZF Tronic E200's at BC, for the S4, 201 and 407. Didn't the 286 batch (now with the 170) have their gearboxes changed?

Personally prefer those ZF Gearbox or any Euro 6 E200s compared to the other ones, they just sound way more better than those Euro 5 and Euro 4 E200s. Those buses sound boring imo. But that’s just coming from a passenger point of view of course.

Only problem seems to be that several of the SENs are idling too fast e.g. SEN13.

In contrast, I have a few favourite Ibus announcements and the way Emma pronounces them: Picardy Manorway / Belvedere Station (Various Routes) to Stratford Love the way she pronounces "Picardy Manorway / Belvedere Station" and fell almost in love with that announcement when I went on the 401 on it's first day with Arriva earlier this year As for ''to Stratford'' my favorite one of the lot is the ''86 to Stratford'' especially on a ALX400 as it gives me good memories of how I've started to become in love with Buses Yes, I just love the way Picardy Manorway / Belvedere Station is said! The pause before Stratford just sounds funny and interesting, love hearing it on the 425's DNs. Coming to think about it, also the way Emma says Uxbridge, 7, East Acton, Oxford Circus and Walthamstow Central is just absolutely amazing!

There are some really funny announcements, I love the way she says ‘Riverdale Road’ on the 269 and “Marquis of Granby / Goldsmiths” on the 172 Another good one is on the 205 when she says “alight here for Mile End Park” at Mile End Station. They amalgated two separate ones together and it sounds really stupid. It first says “Mile End” which is taken from the D7 and 323 destination announcement and stuck a ‘park’ on the end of it. So it says “Mile End Station ... Alight here for ... Mile End ... PARK” it’s awfully funny lol.

A bus on route 284 got a large portion of its side badly damaged in Catford last night at about 11:15 pm. It got caught on the metal guard fence outside the Town Hall suffered broken windows on the rear doors and some of the plates of metal along its side were ripped off...the metal railing was severely bent also. Those buses are relatively new so that likely the first one of that batch that has been seriously damaged.

I took the car round it for the first time yesterday and ended up having to come off at the wrong exit, not being able to change lanes due to cyclists who for some reason have to get as close as they can to motorised vehicles. Fortunately I could just go down Fentiman Road and get to Oval that way but Vauxhall itself was a mare.

If so then if the road layout is the same as the latest google maps then the coach driver is at fault. There could be better signage warning traffic not to turn right but one of the local buses only entry signs looks clearly visible on approach. It is also has a bright yellow backboard to increase conspicuity. The sign may be faded, missing or misaligned at the time of incident but even so, the only lane leading to the bus station entrance is the bus lane, and signage designates it as local only. The coach shouldn’t have been using it. Having looked at the southern approach (from Harleyford Road) the same applies. Happy to be corrected if the road cosmetics have changed since then.

Harleyford Lane direction, driver thought this was way for all vehicles as the sign was faded and second sign was too late for a coach to turn as the partitition is there
