Was wondering, does anyone know what night bus route starts operation at the earliest time and what night bus route ends operation at the latest time? Also which day route runs the latest (not a 24 hour route) and which one begins the earliest? I think either the 157 or 358 has a very late last journey but not 100% sure. It's the 157 - last bus arrives at CP at 0217, so it's beaten by the 154 at 0228. Another late one is the 121, with the last journey to Enfield Island Village arriving at 0218 on a Sunday morning.
With the first 490 at 0315 this means there's a gap of just 47 minutes from the last day bus to first day bus.

I believe I am right in saying that the 490 is the first TfL bus route to start running on Boxing Day.

He’s either doing a David Blaine which is very impressive or he’s natural selection waiting to happen. Part of me wanted to see the bus have to slam on the brakes for whatever reason...

For those of you on Twitter you may wish to participate in this tweet session with London Travelwatch on Monday 2/7. I'm just drafting a 5,000 word essay to send them. Wasn't very inspiring was it? Most of what I saw was the usual anti-bus nonsense from the Kensal Rise lot, the cycling mafia and that bloke who got hit by a bus.

Most of what I saw was the usual anti-bus nonsense from the Kensal Rise lot, the cycling mafia and that bloke who got hit by a bus. Well yes there were the usual "loud mouths" there - myself included. Clearly there are people with very singular and usually negative views of the bus network because of their own personal "beefs". I tried to keep things generalish and asked LTW to push on a couple of issues - release of the patronage data for last year and also for a full schedule of bus priority works (completed / in progress / planned). These are simple enough bits of transparency which should cause TfL no heartache in terms of release. Of course what people then do with that information is likely to be a concern as I suspect a load of churn / change and budget issues have affected the bus priority programme but by keeping it away from public view no one knows what has been lost / compromised / improved upon. I am going to remind TfL again about the patronage data - they've had 10 working days now and few people are allowed to take more than 10 days off at a stretch and I refuse to believe no one in TfL knows what's going on with that data. With LTW also going to ask there might be enough pressure to get it released as they said they also look out for the data.

Witnessed a rather heated argument between a TfL station supervisor and Ensign driver in Canning Town Station. To the Ensigns drivers credit he was reaming calm and asking the TfL official for her bage number but she kept shouting on her phone to a colleague I want the police he keeps following me (Both were stood still ).
The Ensign bus was on the 5 stand waiting to start the daily Amazon trip to Tilbury so wonder if she was telling him he couldn't use that stand......
On a related note this service (Z2) is not being used I see it most days and usually carries one passenger from Canning Town and most days the double decker is substituted with a single decker.

Doesn't sound like two sides of the story to me. I would imagine that reading the Bulletins is an integral part of the Bus Station Controller's job description, and one she has either failed to carry out completely or carried out in a cursory fashion and not comprehended fully.
Her lack of professionalism and common courtesy, and her aggression towards the driver of another bus company are causes for concern, even if she had failed to understand that the driver and his bus had a right to be there. Fortunately the Ensignbus driver did not escalate the situation by responding in kind. If Ensignbus take this incident to her superiors at London Buses or TfL she could find herself in line for disciplinary proceedings.

Premium Tours took a booking for a church in Woolwich today.
At 16:45 the driver of RML2713 parked at one of the busy stops in the town centre and refused to move. When he got out of the cab I directed his attention to the No stopping plate on the stop.
Premium Tours email address very hard to find on their web page.

You seem scuppered with the view of seeing the Z2 service at the first stop; I see it almost daily in Barking (normally on the A13) or Rainham and it is definitely well used!! As for bus station controllers, they are in line with my view of authority in that they wish to exercise what little power they can with rationale thrown out of the window in most cases & replaced with egos. The bus station controllers in Stratford at the time of the Olympics did nothing but shout and beat their chests when everything seemed to work like clockwork without their interference; that's another topic for another day though. Coming back to this scenario, both of the parties were in the wrong. The Ensign bus driver should've listened to the station controller as he literally couldn't have picked a worst stand to park on by using the 5's stand. The bus station controller is clearly in the wrong too by your observations of her screaming wolf when the situation wasn't as escalated as she described it. Why waste police's time because someone doesn't respect your authority?
