The annual collection of Poppy buses has been unveiled near TfL HQ at the Olympic Park. Mostly NB4Ls but I see an Arriva HA and a E400 (Tower Transit I think) In Leicester, while I didn’t see a full blown poppy branding, I saw a poppy at the front of the bus on one of First’s single deckers.

Not sure if this counts as rant... In the video yeah it's kind of clear that driver went through red, penalty is probably deserved but it sucks for the driver, like if this biker didn't push the issue with the whole court and what not, not much would have happened...but it could be a lesson learned for the driver as well...problem is that it is a daily thing, A LOT of drivers in congested areas go through the amber/red light (in most cases not really as obvious as the video, but still through amber/red)...which is sort of bad habit I suppose but If I was to setup a camera on specific location I know, half of the drivers that pass would get their 3 points and you could have new 500 driver jobs within a month. Looking at the guys profile he seems to be crying about everything that's in his way though. Also, anyone bus spotting today (Saturday) at Lewisham? Saw few people taking photos just wondering if I could get one of myself LOL. I bet if I followed this brain dead numpty he may have gone through thousands of red lights.

Good luck getting points on his license, oh wait.

Wonder if windows were being smashed? In E16 been lots of gangs with fireworks could be similar as not too far away. Silvertown also has an E16 postcode Wonder if we'll ever find out what happened, as I can't seem to find anything online? The response of taking buses out of service does suggest something fairly serious (both routes had 2-3 buses that stopped tracking just after 2200). But lack of news points to standard antisocial behaviour on Halloween

Apparently there was "large disorder" at Walthamstow Central yesterday which resulted in a ban. A ban was also imposed in Hounslow. There was also a large police operation against youths causing problems in Highams Park - that's supposed to be "posh" and "well to do". With due apologies to Southwark it's hardly the Aylesbury Estate or similar is it? I never thought that Waltham Forest would start resembling the Wild West with mass disorder and murder, shootings and stabbings but hey ho that's what's what we've got now.

No need to apologise - the Aylesbury Estate had that reputation for good reason although with a large section of it cleared out and demolished ready for yuppies & gentrification, I suspect that reputation will soon fall apart much like Hackney's & Brixton's reputations have largely disappeared These stabbings & shootings are now cropping in areas you think would be near enough untouched by it - for example, Crystal Palace is not what I'd associate as a problem area but there was a shooting there on two people yesterday. Coming from the area I do, I remember the days when it was so normal to have shootings & stabbings almost daily - the only thing I was ever shocked about was the acid attack on the 45 which had largely been confined to East London

I don't think anywhere is exempt from Halloween related anti social behavior and it's a shame something that is a bit of harmless fun for young children has been hijacked by the yob element in this country. Sussex police had extra patrols out in anticipation of trouble and those causing problems, sometimes in rural areas that are generally crime free, were dealt with robustly.

Yeah I think that was probably the case. After posting yesterday I found information about dispersal orders in various areas (e.g. this one in East Ham) and reports of misuse of fireworks in many areas ( Enfield, Haringey and Queensbury mentioned by Evening Standard). I ended up in Hounslow (Kingsley Road) around 7.30pm that evening (going by car) and saw a couple of people casually standing in the road holding up traffic, along with someone starting to cross the road but then walking towards the car until I got near them before moving out of the way, grinning the whole time although that was minor compared to a friend in a university town outside London, who nearly got robbed while walking home . It was probably good that I didn't go anywhere far on buses earlier in the day and therefore got home before the evening.

I was expecting to see something on Twitter about it from a passenger on one of the buses, but nothing appeared to be there. Although that isn't surprising as that bit of the 473 and 474 is very quiet in the evenings. Actually, I wonder if they deliberately targeted a bus with no or very few passengers? A couple of years ago I was on a bus that had a firework launched at it, but this was in a different part of London (Route 199 in Deptford, also was a brand new MMC I think).

Probably just saw the first bus that came along - they won't give two hoots who is on board I've been shot at on a bus though thankfully not by a proper gun - some kid in his house on Brixton Road saw me looking out of the window on a 159 back when it was RM operated and shot at the window causing it to crack multiple times but not shatter - the bus was taken out of service at the next stop.

Magistrate: "Your punishment will be community service for 24 hours....." To**er: "That'll do nicely." Magisrate: "....you will report to the Highways Agency, in costume, at any roadworks on the M1. Oh you've stopped laughing." (If only)

The entire boroughs of Waltham Forest and Newham are under an S35 Anti Social Behaviour order this weekend. What a sorry state of affairs.
