I've used the 309 quite frequently and its mainly 9.3m DMs. But If CT Plus is ordering Dual Door Solos then they come in a form of 10.4m/10.6m, I think. Im sure 10.4m can fit on the 309, but when I heard Optaré Solo I was thinking 7.8m/8.8m Solo's. If that was the case then they would have to increase the 309 PVR by 2 or 3, as the 309 can get busy at times. Solo's don't come in 10.4 or 10.6m the longest was 10.2m but i think that has been dropped now as the versa is here which comes in 10.4m and the tempo comes in 10.6m. I thinm the longest solo now is 9.9m open to corrections. The solo is now available 7.1m to 9.5m lengths Solo SR is 9m or 9.7m only Versa is now 9.4m 10.4m or 11.1m www.optare.com/images/brochures/Solo.pdf

M950s are on order so they will be 9.5m long I've heard different but I'll take your word for it.

Heard different in regards to what? The length? Yep, I've seen a different length mentioned elsewhere.

No The New Site Isn't In Use Yet, I passed the site a few times on 158. The New Garage is across the road from Walthamstow Dog Track (Walthamstow Stadium)

The route 309 would have difficulty with buses larger than 9.3m. There is some tight turns in Poplar Willis Street and , Hay Currie Street. Also the Aberfeldy Estate has some tight turns. Not sure the Solo is the best bus for the route however I am looking forward to seeing a new type of bus in Canning Town.
As far as the Walthamstow Stadium Depot is concerned I am interested to find out what is happening with the site. I am under the impression that there is no progress as there was a lot of recent tenders (123, W15/15/16, 275, 357 etc) an operator pulled out its bids. One can only assume that CT+ was the bidder that pulled out.

The Route is quite a tight route with some tight turns as you say ,but back in the days when First had the D routes it wasn't uncommon to occasionally see a 10.2 Marshall Dart from the D6 allocation working on it, and are there any dual door solos currently anywhere in the UK ? i ve googled it but only see a left hand drive one ??

Check the tender results on the TfL site. Does not say who the bidder was though.

Just come off the W5 and the driver had to mount the pavement numerou times or reverse to get the bus around the routr and he said its because of the wheel position and alot of the drivers find it annoying
