Another forum I belong to... Hmmm, not sure if i'll believe that. I'll have to see if I can get anything from some contacts I have within the company to confirm it. Somehow I doubt that is accurate based purely on the 360's diagrams, though I can see the 317's being used to supplement the main line services through to Colchester. Might possibly be allocated to Braintree and Ipswich services allowing extra 321's to Southend Vic and Southminster trips, though this is just my mind working overtime after a very hectic couple of days ;D Hopefully them 317s are put to good use because they are excellent trains, especially the /8 subclass. I'll ask my mate who does have contacts from within....

I was on a 317 from Stratford that actually sounded quiet from the inside (I could barely hear the traction motor) but when I got off @ Northumberland Pk it was just a rouse - it was loud as ever when it pulled away from the station ;D Apparently the 317s will be used on the GEML releasing more 360s to the Colchester, Clacton and Ipswich workings. No it's been reported that Class 317 fleet once replaced by Class 379s will stay on the 'West Anglia routes' to increase the fleet on that line.

Ah, similar to what happened when the 360's first arrived before the withdrawal of the 312's. Cheers for the extra info there Bighat. Any info on the delivery rate of these? I know they're due in service later on in the year.

379s will be potentially underpowered compared with 360s

Dont know where to put this bus as it's an East Anglia thread I'd thought i'd pop it here.
As entering Liverpool Street Station while on 315801, I saw a very usual 321 departing Liverpool Street... It was in a London Overground Old Livery.. Green cross overs etc.. This was around 16:55... As I've lefted Maryland Station at 16:45..

Are you saying you saw a 321 in Silverlink purple and green? If so, then that's because NatEx has 2 London Midland (Silverlink's successor) 321s on loan at any one time.

I believe NXEA have/had 321412 which is in London midland livery. Staying on topic last night around 20:40 I saw what appeared to be a class 379 working towards Stratford going past Temple Mills lane; I don't know if it was in service, it could also be one of the already delivered on accumlaration.

379006 was just stabled up at platform 11 at Stratford. Not sure why, possibly route mileage as it didn't seem to be in service. Of more interest was the fact its interior seemed to be standard National Express interior

Talking of Class379's, 379 009 was stood in Plt.6 at London Liverpool Street, LST. before it departed at 13:51 ECS to Depot.
