I ask can VHs get around the E1? I'd presume so 🤔 I was in Drayton Green Park one day last year and happened to see one (out of service) travelling up Drayton Green and back. Don't know what the deal was though.

It also claims they will be the largest electric bus operator in London which by my maths will still be Go Ahead even after RATP complete their large orders from ADL. Certainly largest in ratio to vehicles operated but not the largest operator. Uno is largest in ratio of electric buses operated based on their TfL fleet. Indeed, 67% of Uno routes are already electric: Routes 692 & 699, compared to just route 383 still diesel.

Where it is not good news is that this could make it harder for RATP to leapfrog Stagecoach and become #4 in London. This is incidentally the TWELTH London acquisition by Go-Ahead. The other 11 have been London Central, London General, Metrobus, TGM Orpington, Docklands Minibus, Blue Triangle, First Orpington, East Thames Buses, Arriva Horsham (albeit route 465 subsequently lost to RATP), First NP and First DM - routes 193/368/498 subsequently lost and SDO routes. I don't think RATP is far behind Stagecoach in total PVR, especially after the upcoming gains. Plus Stagecoach will be close to full capacity at most garages after all known changes, with TB being the main exception. While RATP have space at V, WD and RP, can use HH to a greater extent, may still may some space at the expanded SO, and CP has some spare capacity. Also, I could possibly see Metroline overtake Arriva as the second largest operator Stagecoach also have plenty of space at WH, potentially enabling an imminent win for routes 308, 488 or W15. Metroline did overtake Arriva for a while. Are there any specific gains you have in mind for Metroline or losses from Arriva (even if not specifically from Arriva to Metroline)?

I did mention "the Royal Mail's dissolution of postal counties [in] 1996" in my previous post before the one you quoted... But plenty of companies still allow you to (or even request that you) add a county when submitting your address to register for services or arrange a delivery. And plenty of people will still include the county when they give you their address. And as RATP's website shows, many companies still include the county when presenting their own addresses to the public. It isn't needed, but that hasn't stopped its popular usage. Hopefully, it does stop - maybe I'm being odd but it really is weird seeing people living in Greater London putting Surrey and other counties as part of their address when their area has been part of Greater London since the 60's and their post code since the 90's. Maybe as I live in Brixton, I should put Surrey down given it was once part of it and see which post actually makes it to my door Indeed, given that you live at the northern end of routes 109 &250, themselves running from garages in Croydon in Surrey, you can refer to yourself living in Brixton in North Surrey.

How will the tender work now for the 413. I'm guessing RATP can't cancel their bid now so if they win the route it transfers on their winning bid terms and it novated across. Operators are allowed to decline work offered by TfL particularly if they no longer have garage space when the time comes. I think TfL offered route 196 to Arriva last time who had to decline due to lack of garage space at N, enabling Abellio to gain it instead.

There may not be a lot of room at WH if the fence being built means its being split in half

OM20237 is currently at Hants and Dorset trim for a refurb. Would be interesting to see if it gains Go-Ahead London moquette when it returns flic.kr/p/2ksYNZf (not my pic)

7 MMCs on 33 and 1 on 419, whilst 216 is stuck with the 60 reg DLEs. It seems to be worse at weekends. Last Thursday was the first day in months where 216 only had 18 plates out. I know it shouldn’t matter because the buses are still running but clearly it’s not a maintenance issue as the buses are out on other routes.

Totally agree. 216 becomes the dumping ground for Fulwell, I’m not sure why but it did with the 03 reg DPSs last contract when they should have been long gone from it. The 60 reg DLEs are actually in decent condition but that’s not the point of course.

If it does head back to HH, I wonder which buses will move over, given that it has a shared fleet with K3.
