This is what Go Ahead London have been doing to every route before even making any orders. Hence Route 200 getting MEs. S have ran the route before so quite surprised an order was placed for 10.9m vehicles. Guess they have a plan in motion already then. and this is what RATP do before ordering any vehicles as well - Hence the H9/H10 and 398 getting 10.2m BMEs and not 10.9m BEs. Presumably the later batch ordered for Route 125 are shorter? Can you confirm that the 10.9m BCEs have passed or failed Route 49 test, mainly just been reading through what has been mentioned a few posts back...

When BCEs are introduced on to Route 49 they will fit… there are works planned to be done by the local council to allow the buses to traverse the problem corners in advance of the buses operating in service.

Haven't some BCEs arrived already? Yes, I think 4 have arrived so far (out of something like 127 BCEs) Last I heard these were going to be used for driver familarisation, with others being held back at BYD site at Iver ahead of taking over the 49 and X140 contract on 4th September. However these were ordered against Fulwell routes 65 and 281 and part 371 (which have already started their new contracts 4 weeks ago) but will only convert when sufficient buses arrive (likely to be Oct-Nov) Going back to 49, if the BCEs don’t fit, it is possible that other hybrids will be temporarily swapped in, might not be VHs (as they have long rear overhang so might not fit either), which leaves the ADHs. I am sure some form of internal RATP fleet swap around would be preferable to hiring in buses. SP’s have been on the 49 and are longer than a VH even with their own overhang so would of thought a VH would be able to make it - anyway, matters not now as it’s confirmed infrastructure changes are being made to allow the 10.9m BCE’s to serve the route

There's a lamppost on the central refuge that would have to be removed........ as for the 14 apparently AF is unsuitable for LTs?

I thought the issue with AF solely related to the 74 in that it wasn’t suitable for turn arounds all day but otherwise fine.

That may well be the case....... an AF driver said the garage was unsuitable for LTs but maybe that's what he meant.

Street infrastructure 'may' need to be tended to for the 345's left turn from Fulham Road to Beaufort Street.

Unlikely. BYD have space for only 5 or 6 buses at Iver at any one time. Only 4 BCEs for RATP have gone through PDI so far. When any others arrive, they will have to be stored elsewhere until they go into service. BCE47031/2/3 are now registered with the DVLA for service.
