Is ADE40305 a Voith E400 and why is it just one lone 61reg that RATP have? My only guess is that it was ordered for a school route. AFAIK, it's a 4 spd Voith example and it was ordered as DD13 as an extra spare by Quality Line to supplement DD01-10 on the 406 & 418. Was that the same as the 2 that got ordered for the 467 around that time?

They needed an extra spare because one of DD01-10 had been reallocated to the 463 DD journey (now numbered 633) when that was introduced in 2009. That left them with a slightly tight allocation, so once it was confirmed that the 406 had been retained in 2012, this extra spare was acquired.

25 minute wait at Clapham Junction for a 49 with most turned short at Battersea, sounds about right!

Is it a common occurrence for the 371 DDs to get battered by trees through the whole route. We hit at least 15 trees and other passengers were making comments. It was my first time on that route and it was sure memorable. I was brand new buses on 133 and the roof was getting scrapped a number of times from Streatham and along Brixton Road but that was like 4 or so but this was on another level. Surely RATP are on the phone to TfL who are on the phone to Richmond or whoever.

I don't recall this happening that often before, this has happened to me on a few occasions but I don't think there'd be any need for any pruning. As vjaska said, there aren't that many DDs on the 371 per day, but more than that, I'm almost certain this isn't a regular occurrence.

Does the 220 deadrun go down Uxbridge Road? Never seen so many unblinded E400s and Gem2s down there.

just seen streetlites and an enviro 200 (not sure if it were an mmc) with H22 Hounslow blinds Im pretty sure X doesn’t operate any SD routes since the 218 moved to V I think. Just wondering if it’s there for storage, I might be wrong. Was also wondering why operators prefer to use the enviro200 over the streetlites, are they not newer?
Sorry if I get something wrong, completely new to this

Sorry if I get something wrong, completely new to this It depends on the operators type preference - RATP have long preferred to operate ADL products apart from certain exceptions like the VH's which they happily continued ordering and some of the inherited stock like the Citaros & Scanias which they seemed pretty comfortable with. Since the B5LH ceased production however, it's been solely ADL products thus far. The newest buses are not always preferred - as well as the type preference of an operator, other factors like reliability, cost to run, ownership status (are they leased or owned outright), etc can play a part
