Sometimes I think the operators know of the results of consultations before its officially released. It was posted on here a few days before about more work being introduced on the 497 which as we know is now going ahead but as the 346. They do. Much of the stuff goes on behind the scenes. Even schedules are drafted, route tests are done for some extensions long before consultations even open Well yes of course that has to happen! The point I was making was nothing is official on the public facing side until it’s announced and things can and do change. It was surprising that Dean made such an announcement on a social media site platform.

I know in the past he had been outspoken when not agreeing with a TFL decision.

I know in the past he had been outspoken when not agreeing with a TFL decision. Dean is easily the most transparent of the bus company managers in London. Each to their own although as an enthusiast it is insightful. He's also not exactly TfLs biggest fan recently! And indeed has stated his intention to come off TfL work.

No buses seem to be tracking on the 299 today. I have been trying to get some old Enviro 400s on the 298, so far on both of my recent attempts I ended up on days with nothing tracking and ended up empty handed

As I'm writing this, there's an hour gap on the W9 for a service that's meant to be every 15 minutes.

Copy from Sullivan Bus website:
9 March – Route B3 Route B3 in Borehamwood will no longer run after 13 April. From 15 April Red Eagle's route 361 will run from Well End via Borehamwood town centre, Theobald Street and Bricket Wood to St Albans as a part replacement but Melrose Avenue and Tennison Avenue will not be served. Please see the Intalink website for the 361 timetable. We would like to thank all our customers who have supported route B3 over the years.

Not sure if posted elsewhere on here but: 298, 617, 629 and W9 will now terminate early on: 7th February 2025 (298 & W9) and 28th March 2025 (617 & 629).

I'd thought the W9 was a 7 year tender with a 4 year break clause? Wonder what will come of the 217 and 605 tenders. Interesting nonetheless. I suspect Metroline no doubt will end up winning all of those routes. Thanks for posting as always.

No no the W9 is a 5 year, starting in Feb 22 just squeaking in before the 7 contracts began with Route 13 in April 2022

Wouldn't be surprised if the 217/605 just get novated to another operator if Sullivan want to leave the TFL market quickly, a bit like the 413/463/S1 when EB closed. Perhaps to Metroline or Uno?

As someone who lives on the W9 and uses the service on a near daily bases. I am very relieved the contract is being terminated, the service quality is beyond abysmal. My hopes are someone more competent can take them on Metroline, Arriva?

My hopes are someone more competent can take them on Metroline, Arriva? I just read an article from the Enfield Dispatch stating 22% of the buses dont even turn up. Thats atrocious considering (famous last words) it seems like a route that if you had decent buses and full staffing the route would run itself with minimal intervention from a Controller
