According to LOTS, the new route 560 will be operated by Quality Line, has a PVR of 2 and the vehicles used on the route will be Darts. Wonder which Darts. The East Lancs Darts SD38-53 are generally already scheduled on other routes The sole E200 SD54 is used school days That leaves the soon to be spare ALX200 Darts SD26-28, 33 as most likely, Alternatively some of the early Solos might take over another route and release a pair of E Lanc Darts

Nothing strange about hired buses being used - the 545 was a temporary route set up when their were roadworks at Loughborough Junction and the quickest diversion route was via Hinton Road which has a very low bridge. The 545 was operated by Abellio using ex Armchair Darts that were sent back to their lessors from Metroline.

One of the most unusual hires was when Travel London acquired a Plaxton President bodied DB250 (ex Capital logistic and strangely coded TA21) for a pvr increase at Beddington on the 3 or 157. Also, a Plaxton Preseident Trident or two were hired short term for a pvr increase on the 381. Those two were hired from Metroline.

Lambeth Council are saying there will be a second shuttle bus running a loop from Streatham Station (the new stand) to Streatham Common Station via Lewin Road and Greyhound Lane.

Lambeth Council are saying there will be a second shuttle bus running a loop from Streatham Station (the new stand) to Streatham Common Station via Lewin Road and Greyhound Lane. Well this is the next best thing for residents from that area who wish to go to streatham high road. I must also say good luck to the drivers out there when driving along estreham road as it can be quite tight there with all the parked cars and traffic trying to get past each other. I wsa originally thinking why thye couldn't divert the buses to kempshott road and ellison road befoer realising that ellison road is a one way road towards greyhound lane only

Greyhound Lane is supposed to reopen for traffic in both directions in the new year because of complaints from local businesses about a loss of trade from being cut off. The reason for closing it eastbound was to prevent large vehicles mistakenly turning from the High Road and getting stuck with nowhere suitable to turn back.

The 560 should have run to Streatham Station from the start. It's a very short, lightly-used route at the moment, so an extension wouldn't hurt.

Running the 560 to Streatham station would mean having to follow the diversion via Eardley Road, Mitcham Lane, and Streatham High Road. So it would take longer than walking that section via Estreham Road and Natal Road, increase congestion, and probably double the journey time on the route, and so doubling the cost of running it.
Also it would not help those along Greyhound Lane who are currently without any service, which the new shuttle is intended to resolve.
