Not sure why you mentioned what county it was made in as though that was the cause? One of your beloved NBfL could catch fire, Anything can and I'd put money on saying it was a electrical fault of some means.
Although, The person that said it was a engine failure was a Havering Police spokesman and with it being in Cranham I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be arson.

Well remember the Bendy Buses had bad press because it went on fire. and they are made in Germany because the manufacture is Mercedes. well there is always faults on vehicles but they need to be maintained in detailed to check for no flaws on the bus which will cause it to happen. I am all for british industries for the buses like in the past. but i do hope the Scania buses are maintained properly so it doesn't happen like what happened to the one mentioned in the article.

Given that production of the Scania Omnicity has essentially ceased, I doubt it. Anyway, the Scanias are really non-standard vehicles, if Stagecoach wanted to replace them with anything it'd be Trident or Enviro.

As others have said id be inclined to believe its a fault to do with the bus. Its highly unlikely to be arson. I feel we should avoid speculation until the truth comessaged out.

If 15016 is moved from WH to RM I wouldn't be surprised. Imo they don't need a replacement from Scania.

One of the comments below the article says 'This keeps happening on these low floor buses'. What a ridiculous comment. How can a fire be connected to a low floor bus design. Theres more chance a fire will start through the windows magnifying the sunlights rays and setting chair alight.
