Indeed, On her way to School as well Can't begin to imagine what it'd be like to receive news like this. My views on what should happen to the guy are probably extreme to some but in my eyes, Take a life....Loose your life.

That guy will not forget what he have done to the family, he will remember it for the rest of his life. There's no way to reverse it!

Can't even go on a bus and someone wants to stab you. Just have to watch your back were ever you go nowadays. You have fools out there.

My thoughts are with the grieving family in this case, and the students at the school Surely the killer must be EXTREMELY deluded. The bus was an Enviro400, which in NXWM spec. has VISIBLE, LIVE CCTV FEEDS WHICH THE PASSENGERS CAN SEE (and even if the CCTV screens were broken the driver would still have a live feed), plus the incident took place during the rush hour (police were called at 07:37), One witness even describe the moment which the stabbing happened.

I'm not necessarily sure the first thoughts of someone in a serious criminal mindset are "Is there CCTV around?", to be honest.

Fair point, although the presence of CCTV led to one good thing, the arrest of the (insert appropriate word here) about five hours after the incident occurred.

I agree, this is a perfect example of why buses have CCTV.

I feel very sorry for her family, can't imagine what they are going through.
I imagine he'll still get away with despite being caught.

I feel distraught after hearing this and condolences to her family. I know what it is like to lose a child though not under the same circumstances and March 7th is a very significant day to me and my family aswell. They should give him a 999 year sentence with the possibility of parole for good behaviour after 950years. Anyone thinks I am joking about I am not as this isn't a laughing matter! I see people get away with stupid crimes such as these things all the time and end up back on the street after like 8 - 10 years.

The kids are becoming unsafe in most places now. The judges are becoming corrupt and give the criminals low sentences. It's time that we need the American style of sentencing of the criminals when it comes to Harm and Loss.

Freebbc, one of the biggest problems England has is the actual jail capacity is too low and is too over crowded. What really needs to be done is more jails built, get rid of the halve your sentence for good behavior rule, and then judges can give bigger sentences but also you need to rehabilitate prisoners better and make it easier for them to get a job once they have finished their prison term, otherwise unless they have the brains to start up their own business, they are not going to able to get a half decent job easily.
Personally the death penalty should be bought back, but only if the accused has admitted the crime and or the police evidence is 100% water tight. After being sentenced to the death penalty the guilty person should have 2 or 3 years wait in case there is new evidence or a fault is found in the case.

While this is a tragic and awful incident I don't think it is remotely appropriate to act as judge, jury and hangman when there is no real detail as to what really happened or why. Note I am not seeking to justify what happened. Knee jerk reactions based on no evidence is no way to conduct our criminal justice system or to conduct a reasoned, rational debate. All we have is some comment from the media - that well respected, always honest "voice of the people" [1].
I accept I will be in a minority of one for the above view given the preceding comments.
[1] excuse me while I laugh myself stupid.

Prison doesn't work and costs far too much money to the taxpayer. I agree though that the death penalty needs to be reintroduced but not for all crimes - for example, I wouldn't use it for fraud.
