Only another 7000 or so to go 😬 It seems alot to go but the momentum is already going now with the 40, 185, 157, 363, 381, 133, 333, 417, 187, 487, 251, 316, 358, 101, 262, 152, 113, 83, 297, 199, 277, D7, 86, 396, 39, 58, 64, 143, 228, 265, 325, 376, 450, 473, D3, E6, P12, W11 plus others I can't think of scheduled to convert.

Now that the electric double deck market has grown since 2019 would their be more orders for the Optare MetroDecker?

Possibly if there is a length issue but Metrolines experience hasn't been great with them whereas the RATP/TT seemed to have little issues with them at X but I still think the City and Electrolyner and now the BZL will satisfy moat demands.

I agree especially as the Electroliner is 10.6m so only 0.1m longer than a Metrodecker but I’ll think they find more success with the 8.7m Metrocity instead as I still think it’s a while before the shorter ADL bus takes off especially with the waiting times for ADL currently

TT having little issues is probably sugarcoating it. The extreme surplus and the allocation on the 28 covers up the higher numbers that vanish, the C3 and 23 manage full allocations because they've got a far higher spares pool to pick from. Metroline don't have such luxury with their fleet.

The only one out of service is OME46015 which has been so since the end of June.

There are enough OMEs/BCEs to ensure the 28 remains fully electric and the N23 still continues to use diesel buses. Optare have certainly improved, however saying that TT/RATP have been free from problems isn't completely correct

Very keen to see how night routes will run with EVs. Due to the charging etc

Very keen to see how night routes will run with EVs. Due to the charging etc Shouldn't be too problematic as not all buses are charged at the same time and thus can be rotated so that buses that were doing spreads or school runs can be charged/topped up in the depot in time for night duties. The 264 at C is an example of night working EVs, baring in mind that's a relatively short night route. In any case they're still be a number of hybrids about at depots just in case.

There is a photo of the first 10.3m BYD/ADL E400 EV on The Londoner Facebook page. According to the post it will be in Reading for route 50. Not my photo so I shan’t post it here.

While there is a large pool of SEes at its garage it is only supposed to use its own 10.2m batch, and appearances of other batches seem to be quite rare.

I thought - perhaps wrongly - that part of the TfL Bus Safety Standard stipulated no backwards facing seats on all new buses? - we can see this with the E400 City EV, where all lower deck seats face forward, but the ones produced by Optare / Switch Metrodecker still do, as do Wrightbus' hydrogens (Metroline WHD), and now even the newest Wrightbus electrics (Metroline WDEs)... is the "no backward facing seats" rule (if it ever was one) still apply? I can see the WDEs have the middle seat of the back rows blocked out, and all have headrests and skylight window as per the new "standard"..
