Any sign of the EVs for the routes due to start their new contracts soon?
I believe there is no sign of the EVs for the 108 & 199.

It's been widely reported for a long time now that most new electrics for routes will start entering service further down the line. The 108 is a completely different situation

I thought the 108 contract had rolled over onto the former Red Arrow routes and has not gone out to tender? It’s getting existing electrics until it’s tendered in a couple of years.

As far as I am aware there is no link.

Oops my bad - yes your right, I should have been clearer. What I was meant to ask is if there are any updates or sign of buses converting to EVs. The 108 was due to be converted this month from what I heard last and the 199 starts the new contract this Saturday but existing buses can ofc continue...

Would they be allowed to extend the contract past the 5 years as this was a roll over contract?

I wonder hypertherically if ever Volvo and Wright ever did double decker together again I.e Wright body with a Volvo BZL chassis would they continue the Gemini 3 body or start a new Gemini 4 or have the Electroliner with a Volvo BZL chassis?

Thats a good question. I mean the Gemini 3 was only for euro 6, as we're now moving over to euro 7 by next year, Wright should've made a newer bus model before. and with wrightbus that had a financial crisis in 2019 due to them now manufacturing their own buses and not needing volvo anymore. so far my answer is no at the moment.

Just proposed at moment. 8 countries in the EU (France, Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Slovakia) are lobbying to get Euro 7 scrapped. The main part of theif argument is it will divert lots of resources from zero emissions technology as it is a 2 phased measure, planned to be tightened in 2030.

Volvo seems to have a very strong tie-up with MCV at the moment. The Volvo BZL with MCV bodywork is starting to attract attention, whilst the Volvo B8RLE/MCV Evora single decker is an attractive alternative for operators who don't necessarily want an Enviro200 MMC. Wrightbus seems to be concentrating on its own integrals now.

I believe the contract for route 507 transferred to route 11, and for route 521 to route 108.

Rode the new electrics on the D3 and two notible things were the cooling system which has more the look of AC. Working really well. The other was the driver cabin microphone/ speaker which helps with passenger/driver hearing. Very clear.
Separately, what are the shortest electrics that are on order or in service? Apparently, TfL don't think it will be easy to get new buses for W12 which is why they asked Waltham Forest for road amendments and they happily said No and hence route is getting kicked out of the Village. That sounds like an open and fair consultation...
