That explains why they sound so different, thought it was just my ears playing tricks Hopefully we can see a variety of chassis if it’s all gonna be electric in the future at the very least. I feel like I'm learning the bus types and chassis all over again with these 'new generation' of vehicles. lol Once the 200 gets its new kits¹ and the lockdown's all but gone² i reckon i'll dedicate a full day in riding as much variance of electrics i can across the capital. ¹ - whenever that will actually be ² - same as ¹

Just a quick question regarding the chassis on BYD buses. I know we have a variety of chassis in London on BYD buses. I was just wondering which ones are Decker ones and which ones are single decker ones. As far as I'm aware Route 507/521 - BYD B9UR Routes 360, 184, 323 etc - BYD D8UR Routes 43, 94, 212, 106, 230 - BYD K10 Routes 692/699 - BYD K8SR Routes 173 and 174 - BYD D8UR I've seen it mentioned in quite a few groups now that the Stagecoach E400 BYDs are D8URs as opposed to K10s, I was just wondering whether electrics come with two chassis options where the operator chooses, or whether the K10 has completely been replaced by the D8URs for decker chassis now. It makes sense that the Stagecoach E400 BYDs are a different chassis as they sound quite different to their NP and S counterparts. Never actually realised how many variations of BYD electrics we actually have within London Not sure if I've got the above list correct so if anything is wrong please feel free to correct. I genuinely wasn’t aware of this, wish it was brought to my attention when doing the fleet list lol but never mind - thanks for this.

Just seen this on twitter, anyone know where this bus is headed? I assume it's for London since it seems to be in TfL-spec

Stagecoach has ordered 46 electric buses 22 BYD ADL E400EV 10.8m for Aberdeen 15 BYD ADL E200EV 10.9m for Kilmarnock 9 BYD ADL E200EV 11.6m for Perth
First has ordered 126 electric buses from ADL 91 BYD E400EV 10.8m 35 BYD E200EV 11.6m All for Glasgow and supported by Scottish bus grants
Apparently delivery of First Glasgow order will run through to March 2023 Does that mean now upto 24 months delivery backlog for new orders?

The Route number on the blinds is either 333 (Tooting - Elephant & Castle) or 337 (Richmond - Clapham) or it might have blinds for somewhere else, as these are both double deck routes. Arriva loaning a set of Brixton blinds seems more likely I assume Leamington Spa is a demonstration (it runs buses to Coventry, which is first all electric bus City) even though it is not in provincial spec

Just reading the Yutong factory has capacity to build 375 electric buses a day!

Just seen this on twitter, anyone know where this bus is headed? I assume it's for London since it seems to be in TfL-spec Perhaps for the OC trial on the 358? Can't quite see the top of the bus from the photo, but it looks like there could be some sort of mechanism to attach to chargers.

There's a trial on the 358? I believe so. Have heard nothing but good things regarding the batch that GNE ordered, it’s was trialled against the E200 EV so they must be doing something right.

Can't quite see the top of the bus from the photo, but it looks like there could be some sort of mechanism to attach to chargers. Makes sense if this is true. The Yutong E10 with OC seems to be the only electric bus on the market capable of delivering the required range for the 358's current mileage. It was mentioned by another forum member a while ago in the GAL thread that charging infrastructure would be installed at the termini of the 358 when the route converts to electric operation, though I wasn't sure what to make of it at the time. Comparing the specifications of the Yutong E10 and BYD ADL E200EV, the E10 has a 422kWh battery capacity vs 348kWh on the E200EV, although the single drive motor on the E10 is more powerful than both motors combined on the E200EV, so it could be argued that it would act more as a battery drain but with a higher battery capacity that isn't too much of a concern. The motors on both buses are in wheel hub configuration I believe, which I think makes for a more energy efficient bus. Unless ADL and BYD develop an OC solution for the E200EV, I don't think we'll be seeing SEes on the 358 (and if that was the case, surely it would've been announced by now). The 358 over the past 20 years has tended to use bus types that were fairly uncommon, at least in SE London (Optare Excels, Scania Omnicity SDs and Mercedes Benz Citaro O295s) and would like to see this trend continued. As much as I love ADL, I think the Yutong E10 would be a perfect fit for the 358.
