The Crossrail works are really starting to cause frustration locally in E16. The 147/241 saga is just one example - Really miffed people that they brought the bus service back for 3 months while the Olympics were on. Albert Road is a total nightmare can see why they doing this but expect a big back lash from locals already feeling cut off.
Apparently the entrance to Whitechapel is expected to change with the Crossrail works, not sure how that's going to work - sounds like it could be trouble down there.
Trying to getting in to sainsburys whitechapel is getting a knightmare to the point where I have given going there.

That would just confuse the issue as the 474 already runs past Cyprus Station. I suspect the 473 is being cut back to enable the 474 to continue running properly. Personally I wouldn't be shocked if the 474 is cut from Canning Town to North Woolwich and maybe a temporary route introduced between those points instead

Crossrail don't seem to care about the local community. The newham recorder normally has a story at least once a week complaining. BBC London did a news a few weeks back about Albert road and the problems in the area.

Can't see one being cut and the other running straight through myself

Something odd about this is that most of Albert road is already one way so what exactly is changing?

Tfl seem to going back on what they said in June last year. " We have looked at what other options may exist for buses and general traffic. Maintaining bus services through the area has been our greatest priority. Temporarily withdrawing the routes and providing a shuttle bus of some sort would not offer good value. Our proposal means that vital links will continue to be provided" Source tfl website consultations.tfl.gov.uk/crossrail/north-woolwich

Looking at the lists of spider maps for Newham borough and also Countdown you can see that changes are due from 6 April 2013. www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/maps/buses/newham.aspxThe 473 does look like it is being curtailed at City Airport. The 474 is being diverted away from North Woolwich via a northern route. Whoever made the amendments for the 473's maps has failed to amend the "key" as eastbound buses are still shown as heading for North Woolwich even though the map shows them stopping at City Airport. Bizarrely there is no press release nor is there info on Buses real time info even if you set a future date beyond 6 April and then select 473 or 474. I only fell across this because I happened to think about catching a bus to North Woolwich - won't be possible soon. God help anyone walking through the foot tunnel or using the Free Ferry.

I'm surprised they don't have a shuttle bus from North Woolwich that at least links Cyprus (For the 474) and London City Airport (For the 473).
