Walthamstow to Victoria via (123) T Hale, (192) Enfield, (307) Barnet, (399) Crews Hill, Barnet, (107) Edgware, (186) Harrow, (H11) Mount Vernon Hospital, (331) Uxbridge, (607) Shepherds Bush and the C1 to finish with! Took most of the day. ;D ;D ;D ;D I've also done "around London in a day" on the 34, 251, 114, U1, U3, X26, 75, 108, 69 on a Good Friday a couple of years ago. Took about 8 hours. Always a good day to do it - Saturday frequencies, no school traffic and lower than usual congestion.

122 to Forest Hill, then 197 to Croydon, then X26 to Hatton Cross, 285 to Heathrow Airport, 490 to Hanworth, 111 to Kingston, 213 to Worcester Park, 151 to Sutton, 164 to Wimbledon, 200 to Mitcham, 264 to Croydon, 75 to Lewisham, P4 to Honor Oak Park (home). That one took a long time, I set off about 8am and I wasn't home until around 12 hours later!

I once did a tube challenge for comic relief busting as many stations as possible, it took 19.5 hours to visit 233 individual stations, with over 330 visited overall (some stations more than once! I've silent all day on buses but insure of times as I was young then!

- Route N21: Eltham to Trafalgar Square (Oyster used)
- Route N9: Trafalgar Square to Heathrow Airport (Oyster used)
- Route 77: Heathrow to Slough (First Day Explorer used)
- Route X74: Slough to High Wycombe (First Day Explorer used)
- Route 275: High Wycombe to Oxford (Single paid to Oxford)
- Route 66: Oxford to Swindon (Stagecoach Explorer used)
- Route X5: Swindon to Salisbury (Stagecoach Explorer used)
- Route 184: Salisbury to Blandford (Stagecoach Explorer used)
- Route 183: Blandford to Weymouth (Operated by same bus as 184) (Stagecoach Explorer used)
- Route X53: Weymouth to Exeter (First Dorset Explorer used)
- Route 510: Exeter to Wadebridge (Western Greyhound Explorer used)
- Route 594: Wadebridge to Truro (Operated by same bus as 510) (Western Greyhound Explorer used)
Thats a total of 350 miles in a day, i did leave at a stupid hour of 2am but didnt get into Truro until 10:30pm

I'm interested to know how much the mega journey cost and how much planning was done to ensure it worked - especially on things like Explorer ticket validity which is very difficult to work out.

I'm interested to know how much the mega journey cost and how much planning was done to ensure it worked - especially on things like Explorer ticket validity which is very difficult to work out. Travelline was quite helpful in getting the times correct but had to enter it in 3 goes as it couldn't quite work out a route from Heathrow to Truro by bus, but splitting it up into Slough to Swindon, Swindon to Exeter and Exeter to Truro, it then worked it out. - The First Berkshire Day Ticket was £8, if i would have used the Arriva The Shires Route 40 to Thame and 280 to Oxford this same ticket would be valid on that stretch too. Luckily First Berkshire list who accepts their Explorer ticket.
- The Stagecoach West Explorer was £6.30 (its now £6.80), its also valid on Wilts & Dorset, Damory and Bluestar. Also helpfully Stagecoach West tell you who accepts it in their tickets leaflet.
- On the X53 you can only buy an Explorer costing £7.80
- The Western Greyhound Explorer was also £8. Its also valid on Stagecoach Devon. Helpfully Western Greyhound mention this on their site (so do Stagecoach).

I have got a big bus ride planned with someone on this forum that will span a lot of routes in a lot of places though. There's quite a few cross-border routes and night routes I'd like to try.
