Ex Stagecoach 15154 (LX59 CPF) has had half it's roof removed and is being used as a sightseeing bus in Glasgow. www.flickr.com/photos/89656176@N08/17617851106/in/dateposted-public/(Not my photograph, full credit to original photographer) Not sure what that says about the popularity of the Scania's that a relatively young bus is already minus half its roof and being used as tour bus. I think your reading too much into it TBH. Secondhand Scanias from London have been brought by provincial operators before - Stephenson's of Essex own a few of the former SO's and the Ethanol Omnicity DD, Centrebus own some ex SO's and Go-Ahead are in the process of cascading a substantial number of Omnidekkas. Yea that's a fair point vjaska and I totally see what you mean, it was more that a bus which is only 6 years old has been converted for use as a tour bus. In my mind much older buses are normally used for that job such as the Stagecoach Vxxx MEV Tridents.

They are expensive especially when you consider some secondhand low floor deckers cost only a little more. I'd love to own one mind being L's which were brilliant buses.

Yes but low floor double deckers around that price are probably not far off from the scrapheap or require a bit of work, which is partially why prices vary between £5000 and £20,000.

Stumbled across this on Flickr, and judging by the length, seating and age of the bus, it's an ex. London United VA registered 02D102370 and owned by Dublin Mini Coaches but no clues to its former identity. Ironic that Dublin Bus are selling off similar buses (but these are longer and older) yet an operator in Dublin runs an ex London example! Photo by Darren Hall on Flickr.

Top deck windscreen rail isn't yellow.
