Former Tower Transit E200's 44221/222/233 were reported at an auctioneer near Coventry Airport, along with quite a few others of the breed.

I see in route one magazine that if you want an ex Lothian Volvo / Wright you pay about £23k. However a similar aged ex Arriva Volvo / Wright will only set you back £8k. Shows the respective extent of use and wear and tear between both operators. I assume the Arriva ones have been absolutely hammered from their use in London and that's reflected in the price.

The other thing is the Lothian spec is probably lot closer to what the operators of cheap basic buses want. Generally longer, probably single doored, and not fitted with a lot of equipment that they dont need which is just more maintenance or more to breakdown. Many will not need particulate traps (need servicing/emptying), cab air con (extra weight and needs periodic treatment), powered ramps (something else to break down), middle doors (maintenance and anti-trap sensors), public address systems (probably wont be used), blind destination displays (got to buy suitable blinds), powered blinds (more cost if they go wrong) etc. As you have said, ex London bus is basically worth nothing, the £8k is probably close to scrap value of parting it out.

Isn't that supposed to be going to Tower Transit for trials - assuming it's got a hydrogen conversion?

Isn't that supposed to be going to Tower Transit for trials - assuming it's got a hydrogen conversion? It was indeed meant to, not sure whether or not plans have changed since.

Isn't that supposed to be going to Tower Transit for trials - assuming it's got a hydrogen conversion? Magtec seems to be associated with EV, rather than hydrogen. Seemingly it is to enter service in full electric mode before returning to have a hydrogen range extender fitted, so valid comparisons can be made. www.route-one.net/articles/Technology/Magtec_to_launch_fuel_cell_first

Ex Abellio 8533 is with The big Lemon of Brighton while they await the delivery of the solar power bus Apparently 6 of these have actually been acquired for their new work around Brighton, this has also allowed the loan buses to return to Ensigns
