Hi thought I'd get the ball rolling on this topic!
My favourite route is 243 as its always been a route in my life. My favourite bus of old is the M, Metrobus. For pretty much the same reasons and have many bus models of it! My current favourite is the Ts I like the sounds and look of the bus.
What about everyone else?

My favourite route is the 83 because it's amazing. My favourite bus are the Mk1 Metrobuses because liked the noise that they make and they are from my childhood.

I have a few favourite routes, the R70 as its my local route and TF have recently become like PD allocations and also the 267 as it my 'local' link to central-ish London. However I generally hate the 40, 42 and 43 As for bus types... Well I'm torn between the new Enviro400s (the WTA ones) and Gemini 2, but in this weather I have to give an edge to the Gemini 2s due to the cooler!

I don't really have a favourite route.
From a drivers perspective in terms of bus type it's a close competition between Volvo's B7TL (I haven't driven a B9 so can't offer an opinion) and the Scania OmniCity. Both buses are certainly designed around the driver although the Volvo edges slightly ahead in terms of the ride quality. I'm with MrEdd on the sound too - the ZF ones we had on the 150 were awesome!

I will have to say either the 465 or 246, both have National Speed Limit sections where buses normally get a good thrashing. Both routes also have some very tight sections, the 465 through Mickleham and the 246 on the Sunday bit to Chartwell. I think i may correct in saying the 246 must be one of the only (if not the only) TfL route to have to reverse into its stand with Passengers on board.

Favourite bus has got to be the Citaro's and I like the the 108 a lot because its got thrash roads and the Blackwall Tunnel which makes for an interesting time.

Favourite routes in my own area: The 45 as it's handy getting from Brixton Hill to my local hospital, Kings College Hospital, somewhere I had to visit a few times when I was much younger. I also like the 159 because it's links Brixton with the West End & passes through some of the best & important sites in London. Finally, the 196 because it was the main bus I used to go to school and it had the excellent Connex Tridents too. Favourite routes elsewhere: The 107, 292 & 492 simply for scenery and thrash! Favourite old buses: The ECW L class Olympians, Titans & Metrobus all tie in first place, I could never choose between those 3 and have always been my all time favourite buses Favourite modern buses: Tridents & DAF DB250's, particularly the former V reg Stagecoach Tridents, Arriva Euro III DW's & all of the ex Connex Tridents. The ex Stagecoach London Super Pointer Darts (a.k.a. 'my babies' ) are another fave of mine.

My favourite route is the 83 because it's amazing. My favourite bus are the Mk1 Metrobuses because liked the noise that they make and they are from my childhood. I remembered the M's on the 83 and 207 having grown up in West Ealing Though the best sound is a DLA being thrashed (370 was best for that) I did like the Atlanteans on the 65, and out of London, the Bristol VRs and RE's on the Isle of Wight (Southern Vectis) and the ones in East Kent (Hythe / Folkestone) Current modern favourite would have to be a DB300, the unique Euro3 DLP's from Enfield, the 05-reg DW's that were on the 19 when they were brand new and regularly thrashed, local route 243 is fave as it takes me into town

PD are on the same level as Merton. You get the odd type now and again, but PD practice it daily on certain Routes.

My favourite route is the 111, ever since I started being interested in buses. It's been there, goes to Heathrow and the only good route from when I was younger. However, the sole flaw is that it has SPs, not ADEs. I don't like SP.
My second favourite is the N9, also annoyingly SP. Links many of the places I like, e.g. Chiswick, Heathrow, Kensington-Aldwych.
The non-West London one is N15, as I do weirdly like Romford. I seem to have a weird liking of night routes.
I hate the 120, for personal, reliability and that it doesn't deserve ADE, but rather SP...

My favourite childhood routes were the
19 - Tooting Bec to Finsbury Park,
Sunday 88 - Merton Garage via Phipps Bridge and Mitcham to Acton Green (Was so happy when the extension was introduced, giving direct links from Phipps Bridge to the West end and West London, made for an excellent Sunday bus ride)
Summer Sunday 152 - Mitcham Cricketers to Chessington WOA
Favourite old types are the
RT (75/77/88/93/155)
RM/L (77/88/93/118/155)
SMS (Red Arrows and 200)
DMS (Tooting/Merton/Wimbledon/Mitcham)
LS (152 from AL, 200 from Kingston Bus, Red Arrow and the old 82 to Heathrow)
I never however liked the refurbished Greenway version of the red Arrow buses, the original design having far more 'sex appeal'.
My favourite modern day buses are
Euro2 engined ZF Trident, esp the Connex batch
Euro3 engined Voith Trident
VE 1/2/3 from AF, to me the best London B9TLs on Voith
DB250s, including the twenty-five K reg ZF box Optare Spectras that used to be on the 3 and 280 (dual doored SP2 briefly allocated to the latter, shame the rest weren't also dual doored)
DB300, particularly WDL1, hoping she retains her black bits after the refurb
Stagecoach's E400s as well as GAL's 06 reg buses of the same type
Metrobuses MAN chassied single deckers (had hoped (more like wished) that one day the firm would have won the 152 so as to introduce the type))... ..no chance now
Hybrid-wise I like the EH and Abellio's 2400 series E400s, the latter often sighted at Wimbledon on the 156. Not had much riding experience on the B5TL, but it's interesting to know that there's a remote chance of catching one from Tooting Bec on the 249. Was hoping that Stockwell would one day put some out on the N44....or Q's own on the 355. Wishful thinking!!

My Favourite bus when i was younger growing up was the RML's with the scania engines on route 8 which was my favourite route but thats nearly 10 years ago now !! How the time flys ..............
but back to the future i would say my favorite London bus type is the E400 Euro 5 with ZF and kickdown a fairly decent British built bus IMO but outside of London would have to be the Volvo 7900 i have never been on a B5LH so i dont know how similar the engines are but the sound and quality of these buses is great and the same again with the Gemini 2 with either B9TL or the VDL Chassis ZF Or Voith another great British bus design as for favourite route would have to be the 25 for inner suburban and the 372 for my outer suburban/outskirts route .

Incidentally Enviro Tridents are powered by Cummin engines, which are from an American company. Had always wondered what kind of engine spec Dennis would have used had they made their own units today.
